Todd Payten...

Think it would be best for all concerned if Taylor was given until at least the end of this season before the club considers parting ways. If the team goes pretty well over the remaining 18 games Taylor's entitled to take some credit for that. If not, he probably gets punted. Either Payten or Cleary would most likely do a good job if Jason gets shown the door. Payten seems to be going OK at the Cows working with Paul Green, one of the smartest of the younger coaches in the NRL

Story in todays tele, can't copy and paste as I do not subsrcribe.
But it says Brooks and Moses want to stay and for the long haul because they see so much talent and a future, but the stumbling block is Taylor.
And the best bit, say's Taylor won't be here next year and will be lucky to see out this year, either Payten or Cleary to take over.
Also say's Taylor has been ringing players and support staff to gauge his popularity, and he didn't like what he heard.
What the hell coach does this, after ringing talk back last year, this guy needs to go and go now, he has no idea how to run a football team.
Story titled " Brooks, Moses set to remain at tigers."

Haha trust you to fall for that garbage

We can't all be as smart as you, and anyway how do you know that is garbage.

Just to butt in here, I don't understand how anyone could believe anything from the DT. It's garbage because it's from the DT.

If Wayne Bennett or Bellamy came to this club, there are some on this forum who would find some reason to not employ them.

So predictable.

PS. None of the JT haters who are calling for a new coach, ever name the coach that would satisfy them. Strange.

From the current poll:- Clearly, Payten, Folkes, Toovey, Smith, Anderson & other. That is just off that poll though. I'm sure if you give me some other options I'd probably choose them as well.

I also said that Taylor has improved this year. I just think being logical Taylor hasn't been good.

I do agree with this.

Still think that is garbage and Taylor has the support of his players after todays display.

The question is with our current environment do we need someone who understands out landscape and will invest time with the juniors or do we just need another coach who won't have everything his own way?

It's tough, Payten would struggle but could he bring some talent from far north with him? Tamou and some of the young kids would be great.

"Todd Payton has knocked back an assistant coaching job offer with a rival NRL club to stick with the Wests Tigers. Why? Because he knows Jason Taylor’s position is so shaky."

Considering he got his name wrong and which club he is currently with, I'm not sure you can trust his intel.

Would he be the only coach to put his hand up I wonder :crazy

Todd is one person i wouldnt want at the helm because he played for us,the same applies to ex Balmain or Magpie players. We need someone who is from outside the club so nobody can accuse them of being biased and come with a total clean slate

Robbie Farah runs the show and is paid a reported $900,000.00\. Make him captain and coach so he works for his money then leave at the end of the year.

Todd can fix this mess.. The players will play for him… I think its our best option, we need a coach that knows the ins and outs of this club.. Like all coaches if he doesn't perform he gets shown the door but he needs to be backed by the board and the FB manager.. I believe JT has lost the dressing room, hes a dinosour, the sooner he goes the better... I would even consider bringing Todd as assistant to Ivan and he takes over after 3 yrs,...

He might know the ins and outs of the club but it's the ins and outs that need changing.

He should not be allowed near the club. The behaviour of him and Farah during Potter's years show everything that is wrong with the club. Maguire would be an interesting appointment if Souths move him on. The players need someone that will add toughness and discipline to the club. I am not convinced Cleary is that man.

Payten was a catalyst for our collapse in 2014 when we were running 5th in Rd19\. We've never recovered. There's no way he should be rewarded after the damage he caused

What about Stephen Kearney if he was interested? Previously had big wraps, but took charge of a coach killing Parramatta side that had a dud roster and plenty of front office infighting. He has served extended apprenticeship under Bellamy and Bennett and has gone well as a test coach. Though he may look at the Tigers and have flashbacks to his days at Parramatta.
