Which was the May incident? If the no try for obstruction it was Pole who cost May the try (even though I thought a rough call)

I thought it was just unlucky that call. He can’t just stop on a dime, there was no gap as defenders were crammed, the defender did commit and we had them for numbers but it is consistently a no try ☹️

Roberts looks ok in A but stands flat footed in D and can easily miss his defensive assignment. He may benefit from some technique training and coaching in this area.
Sukkar is just a little short on athleticism but is trying hard. He is serviceable but compared to the high quality edge players in the game he is unlikely to ever compete with them.

Yes he doesn’t have that athleticism of the likes of Sam and KPP ..but he can do a job as depth on I assume a minimum type contract …

Roberts seems to punch through with ease, but completely loses his strength without the ball lol. Needs some face slapping before he runs out i think. What a shame he isnt an animal, because he could be anything. Maybe thats why the Roosters didnt fight to keep him, he's just a little too gentle.
I think Ethan Roberts has much more talent than he realises himself.
When he hits top speed quickly he is extremely hard to handle with his size, footwork and skill.
He seems to hold back and be passive far too often which is his downfall, but he has the potential to be elite and has a higher ceiling than even Samuela and KPP in my opinion, but it all depends on his commitment and attitude.
He is a real x-factor waiting to explode, we desperately need to sit him down and explain how good he can be with the right focus, aggressive approach and a big commitment to tightening up his defence.
I’m really happy for Tony Sukkar, I think he has come on in leaps and bounds this season and is looking more comfortable at NRL level every time e he plays.
He does not have the footwork, unpredictability or natural flair as what Ethan Roberts does, but he is starting to use his big frame to advantage and starting to utilise a change of direction and his offload.
I’ve seen enough to believe he is now a must keep for us adding valuable depth and starting to become a player that adds value when called upon for our NRL team.
At the start of this season both of these young men were not quite ready for regular NRL, they are now at the stage with added belief and focus both can become valuable members of our NRL squad with natural continued improvement.
I would be putting work into seeing how they both go at 13, particularly Ethan as he has all the skills required.

Not enough run threat with a Madden and Latu halves combination.
Latu is and can be a brilliant ball runner, but I think he needs to build game time and confidence in the halves before we start seeing it on a regular basis, therefore I would not burden him with being the halve we rely on to run the ball and make things happen straight away and I think AD anywhere close to his best at 5/8 is the perfect halves partner to allow Latu to initially just concentrate on the basics and straighten the attack which he is very good at.
If all goes to plan, continued improvement from Javon including tightening up his defence and continuing tj improve his kicking game, would see his form too good to ignore and by round 10-12 next season a halves combination of a fit, healthy and confident Latu and Javon should be ready to explode.

We need to te-sign him.
Currently he and Ethan are both outside of our best 17 when we are full strength.
They are both now at the stage where a big off season with added confidence and belief can potentially see them both forcing their way into our top 17 even when we are full strength.
They are both real wildcards in our pack and their progression can be a very important part of our success in 2027.

Agreed.
This forum often looks at outside backs as potential green shoots but these two guys are workhorses with a bit of extra to their games. They are growing big frames as well.
We definitely also need some added speed and class in the backs, but Jake Averillo should help and if Taylan May can stay injury free tgat wil be a big help.

I would also like to have a look at both of them in the middle.
Maybe playing Roberts in the middle in reserve grade and telling him his job is pure aggression, he can narrow his focus and develop that part of his game before moving back to an edge. Or possibly he will just flourish in the middle and you keep him there. He's a big boy with great skill.
He has the soft hands, skill and vision to be an elite 1st receiver ball playing style of 13 that most NRL teams are now looking for and has the added bonus of being an extremely good tackle busting ball runner with an offload when required.
His lack of work ethic would not allow him to play anywhere near 80mins in this type of role initially, but we would not want or need him to play anywhere close to 80mins in this type of role.

Sukkar/Roberts/Herbert have all provided value relative to their standing within the 30 (ie not top 20)
I think Tony had a big offseason this year and built some muscle, he is now a big human. He has been around a while but is still only 22. He is now just starting to understand how to use this. He is quite good defensively and does rattle some cages in contact (probably one of our hardest hitters consistently?).
As others have pointed out he does seeming lack some footwork and agility in attack but he does posses a gods offload in traffic which can dangerous - especially when his outside men are aware and positioning themselves for the pass.
I’d like to see him work on his speed and footwork in the offseason - think he may be a bit of a sleeper in terms of his ceiling.
