Even at full strength we are just full of plodders. The problem is the plodders actually put in so our coach, whether Potter or Sheens can't drop the plodders without it being totally unfair.
Take a guy like Liam Fulton for instance. A plodder. Good defender, limited otherwise, plodder. Tries his guts out while others so evidently don't, or suck really bad, so Fulton looks a million bucks and retains his spot.
Take a guy like Moltzen. A plodder. Turns up to play when he knows his spot is on the line, so he has a blinder when he's about to get dropped and we can't drop him.
Take a guy like Anasta. Sacked and old and a plodder.
Benji Marshall. Plodder. Was awesome in about 5% of the games he played prior to 2012 and is evidently invincible for it. Didn't even try to tackle Tony Williams. I laughed out loud.
Ayshford plodder. Lawrence plodder. Miller plodder. Utai plodder. Reddy plodder. Bell plodder.
And then we have the debutant plodders. Tries hard in a well beaten side and looks to be the future of the Bell/Fulton plodder, Buchanan. Benefit of the doubt because he might come good but he has all the makings of an impactless plodder. Not the worst plodder we have but still a plodder. Spence, dictionary definition plodder. I can't see either of those guys ever being anything but plodders.
With salary cap and that plodders are needed. Every club has their plodders, but unfortunately we're just plodderville. We have no intimidation, x-factor, mongrel, no good qualities associated with our side. Just what sort of side are we trying to be? It looks like McDonnell and Potter are literally trying to create a team of plodders.
