i havent read the whole thread so dont know what people have said however farah to souths is done, not nearly done but done. it will be announced next week. i was told last night by a current souths coaching staff member.

Thanks Fergie,

Are you able to confirm how much it is costing us on the 2017 cap?

The lurker said the same on Friday about the deal and the two teams made an agreement to split his 2017 wage.

If that is true it should be costing us less than 500k of our next year's cap.

Do you have any info on this?

no further info mate, purely got told the deal was done and will be announced next week.

No dramas,

Appreciate the update all the same.

Ballin - the lengths the club was prepared to go get rid of Farah last year and still people think Farah has been dropped based on performance.

Why does everyone keep making this point? It is **all** about performance.

The club does not deem his contribution to the club through his on field performances is commensurate to the salary paid. Either he contributes more or his salary comes down. Neither is going to happen so he is asked to look for other options.

The market always finds a way to price someone correctly. If Wests pay $600k and Souths pay $350k, it means Farah's true value is between these two values. He is certainly not worth $950k.

It's all about money you mean. You've been caught out here mate. Continuing to deny it is a little nutters.

That's your view. My opinion is that performance is linked to incentives (ie: money) and his performance doesn't match the incentives.

He definitely isn't worth $950k but someone in the club paid him that amount. I hope the club learns from overpaying players after this incident.

Yes, someone in the club did the deal, but management has the right to play what's in front of them right now.

You can not please everyone, TT has given us a great insight into what is going on behind the scenes and some people want to have a shot at him. As I said in a previous post, the Farah thing is complexed and is about a lot of things and is not just a Taylor and farah personality clash. Also interesting to read Farah has upset someone of influence and my guess it is our chair woman.

If Cleary's price is 200g more than Taylors, I do not see that as a stumbling block when you consider what we pay players

Great insight TT, love your work us fans deserve to know what's going on in the club after all these deluded media speculations.

Good to hear that the Farah saga will finally go away, very, very curious on the JAC situation. Really, really want him to stay I think we could try to offer to compensate 100k instead of 200k and tell Addo-Carr that if he wants to stay than we would have to take the 100k out of his salary for 3 years. So we could take out 33k of his salary for the next 3 years to pay us the 100k back or give them Rankin under Bellamy I reckon Rankin could be a good half next to Cronk.

Hope ET stays, he's the reason why we have had this late surge the bloke averages 50 tackles a game. 450K is a bargain with the cap increasing IMO.

Also great to hear we are trying to retain our juniors instead buying players from other clubs (junior wise)

Cheers again for the insight TT, very much appreciated. Quick question: Does anyone know how much Souths are offering to pay for Farah after hearing that he's practically going there? Hoping more than 400K

Being completely on topic of course (ha ha). I qualified by what she achieved with a hung senate. She actually passed more than what Little Johnny did in all his years. Whereas Abbott could not negioate his way out of a paper bag and Turnbull gave up and called up a double dissolution. So Gilliard was the stand out one in handling sticky situations - she was miles ahead of the blokes.

How did Kevin Rudd compare with Julia?

on rudd, if i was calling a horse race i would call it gillard by a nose, both will go down as fools.

Well if we are talking fools Turnbull must rate highly - calls a DD and ends up in a worse position than before. :sign:

If we're talking fools, then Abbott wins hands down! He can't even put 2 sentences together without sounding like a complete idiot! Canadia is looking good at the Opening Ceremony Tony

Heard somewhere that he had a profound stutter growing up. Speaks pretty well if true.

I would assume that the re-signing priority would be:-

1\. Teddy
2\. Moses
3\. ET
4\. Brooks

Nup it would 100% be

1\. Teddy
2\. Moses
3\. Woods
4\. Brooks

The rankings may change due to the performances!

I think Woods might be in there rather than ET if they're going for a bred not bought policy, but ET would still be a high priority.

I think you both have a valid point. While Gary is right that everything in this game is intrinsically linked to performance, in this case I believe it has **_become_** about money due to the back-loading of Farah's contract.

That's nothing unusual these days though.

TT please enlighten me, how the hell can the storm ask for $200,000 comp for JAC when they not paid a cent for him yet. i dont get it, if JAC says iam not going iam sure the storm dont want a player that really does not want to be there.

Should they just rollover and do what we'd do ? and just hand him back and bow and scrape to us and apologise for inconveniencing us.
We were stupid enough to not tie him up when we had the chance, so deserve to get screwed by them.
Anyway aren't we the feeder club to them for wingers( ones that have some speed that is, )
Unfortunately there's no way they'll accept Rankin even if we pay them to take him.

I don't get this either. We were able to get Teddy back from Canberra, after he signed with them, without paying them anything, but then again, this is the Storm - they seem to find a way to try and squeeze every cent out of every situation and still somehow win.

JAC has to stay with us, it would be a travesty if he ends up leaving and doesn't want to - he is exactly the kind of winger we need moving forward as a team. Can we send a petition or something to the club?

His market value is what someone will pay him
We set that at what's on his contract, we were idiots and and payed anything to stop him from going to another clubs.
He's still a better hooker than anyone else we have in the club. ( or are likely to get)Including the one that has spent most of the last two seasons on injury leave. And I won't even comment on the lunacy of even thinking about Mortimer, possibly, THE biggest non event ever in the NRL
This whole crap performance by our "Coach" of playing without a top quality hooker is going to come back and bite this club on the Bum
It's just a matter of when.

I agree about the petition X2, Addo-Carr will be a very good player he has that X factor, I know it's early stages but I can see a lot of potential in this kid. Only negative about him is how he gets man handled in his kick returns but he'll grow with age and get bigger and stronger with experience as well.

With the Tedesco situation, I'm pretty sure he back flipped before the deadline so it's legal just like the DCE situation. Time ran up on JAC and its Storms choice whether to let him go or not!

You are right with the Tedesco situation he had until June 30 to change his mind. It changed to a 10 day cooling off period after DCE backflipped and that 10 day period is all JAC had to decide whether to go or stay. I would sign a petition though to hand into the tiger's to let them know how much we want JAC to stay

Unfortunately it's out of our hands and no petition signed will change anything.
The only way he will stay at Concord is….cough up the money the Storm want in compensation.
