Tough Times, but Tiger Tim is still the best man for the job

got no option but to believe all the rubbish the club and its' players dish out week in week out.

no point trying to analyse it over and over and over again. they throw out these articles to convince themselves, not the fans. if they think they're convincing us, they're even more disillusioned than i thought.

it's the same thing as what ch9 has been doing. they take people who love the sport as granted. no attempt to entertain them or keep them happy.

Theres so much more to it than just that

Its the style of play
Positional selections
Bench policys
Reward and accountabilty

etc etc etc

As I said, youre oversimplifying things, but to try to answer your hypothetical…..probably not

I avoid having an opinion on things that havent happened, as I thought one way once before the JV...and discovered in time my thoughts can and do change

Not to mention Manly had their fair share of injuries too this year, plus a number of their top players away for representative duties, and they still made the top 4\. All about depth and using your backup players wisely.

That wasn't written for us, that article is squarely aimed at the board. Tittle should read " sheens goes I'm gone" the weird thing is that a great majority of wt fans would be ok with that but benji can't see this.

The biggest shame is in 10-15 years when benji looks back on his career he will realize that sheens was great for him in his early career but horrible for him in what should be his best years. Wasted talent…

Couldn't agree more. Sheens has a knack for bringing through young champions, then ruining their career once they get to first grade.

I've never seen Benji play a man of the match game for the Kiwis, and that's because he's always been given the organiser role and never had a decent halfback to partner him. If Sheens wants to nullify his off the cuff brilliance by making him steer the ship then so be it, but he'll never see the form we witnessed from him in the past.

Another embarrassing article/interview from our club.

Our problems are alot worse than I thought after the comments made this week. In denial, lost, unaccountable and just plain wrong is what springs to mind for me. What the hell is going on with my club?

With respect, Matt Scott's mum passed, Canberra lost Campese, etc etc all teams have things that go against them…

Sheens lack of finding a halfback over the years has turned the best running 5/8 in the world into a 50% playmaker 50-50 good-bad)… and Benj still defends him!

Also, when did Anasta become a organiser? I thought Pearce has been doing that for years now...

To be fair … Robert Lui was coming along just fine until those disgraceful domestic issues ... And his departure left us in the lurch this season. Moltzen looked good at half a few years ago but when slotted in at the beginning of the year went totally missing and Miller seemed to go backwards in his development ...hindsight is a wonderful thing but back in March there looked a number of options ... As we now know ... They all fell flat.

Whether the tigers make the finals or not, I just want a team that COMPETES in a Coherent way each week and not the 2nd grade rubbish that has been dished up ALL season except for one win against Canberra. The Tigers started the season half prepared and half hearted and NEVER recovered. Sheens as the coach should accept full responsibility for this fiasco with the 2nd biggest problem being Benji and his woeful performances !

Will soon find out how desperate the board will become , when they compare season ticket sales to last year , say December whenever the cut of date is for current season ticket holders to renew it for next year and realise the sales are well down.
You will get the whole 1st grade side calling you at home to renew it . I'm afraid Sheenious time is up if not get ready for the same crap next year.

Some interesting statistics…

For the 10 years from 2003, each team have made the finals on the following number of occasions –
1\. Melbourne – 9
2\. Brisbane – 9
3\. Manly – 8
4\. St George Illawarra – 7
5\. Canberra – 6
6\. Canterbury – 6
7\. New Zealand – 5
8\. North Queensland – 5
9\. Sydney Roosters – 4
10\. Parramatta – 4
11\. Newcastle – 4
12\. Penrith – 3
13\. Cronulla – 3
14\. Wests Tigers – 3
15\. Gold Coast – 2 (From 6 seasons)
16\. South Sydney – 2

These results are kind of embarrassing for Tim Sheens and the Wests Tigers board when 50% of the teams make the finals each year… Correct me if I am wrong, but 2 of those 3 years the Tigers made the finals were the 2 years with Steve Folkes as a defensive coach…

Prior to his time at the Tigers, Tim Sheens coached the Cowboys to several years of not making the finals as well…

All of the teams with similar levels of performance, Penrith, Cronulla, Parramatta, Roosters, South’s have all sacked coaches during periods of poor performance… We just make excuses…

It is a joke that he is still at the club…
