LIVE GAME Trial 2 V Roosters..

Live Game Discussion
If we get Friday night's version of Tamou more often I would be happy for him to be remaining in the side and starting upon return for the second round. If not, the bit of mongrel that Musgrove can provide would be my preference to open matches with alongside the ute.

He has started the season well. If he plays like he has in the trials he is a starter.
To be fair he has said he wasn't happy with last year, is apart of the captain's group and in the 2 trial games has actually picked his game up and is leading from the front. Good on him.

The cynic in me can't help but also think this year is a contract year and he wants 1 last deal, but I don't care about that if he continues to play well TBH.

The commentators saw it differently, at one point they were gushing with statements like..”the roosters look really good.”
With the Roosters being one of the favs in 2022 to be minor premiers they will be gushing over them rather just commentating on what’s in front of them. This doesn’t bother me too much. compared to refs having a pre conceived idea about a team.

Its a team sport , there is a game plan too execute , im not knocking Rua he has alot to like about him and he is clearly trying too get himself a top 30 spot , but last night I thought he bombed a chance by ball hogging and was hooked straight after .
Agree with a bit of that and as an explosive style of player Rua would have been better served scooping it out to the playmakers, but most young players, including Simpkin to a lesser extent are still yet to get the go for it play adequately out of their game. You can’t blame them though, as it is a very productive play and right up until reserve grade at that.

That said, I think that the coaching staff were always going to want to see how Peachey went in the nine, with the preferred Liddle playing half the game and the second half shared amongst the others.

Rua shows heaps of potential, but still has a lot to learn in regard to 1st grade NRL,but he also has time and some good coaching on his side....will be a star....
On another note did anyone hear that Liddle has to have scans for another injury, thats what I thought I heard in the commentary the other night...
maybe thats why Rua,Simpkin and even Peachey all had a crack at hooker, just an assumption though on my part...
Yes Lids is having scans on knee, hopefully it's a strain because he didn't show too to much discomfort.
Knowing how good WT media group is, we'll get an answer sometime around round 8 or when he's selected to play next, whichever comes first 🤣

Just stay home and watch it quietly.
Don't post about it on IG.

I don't like it.
Yeah, it's a balance. Not sure with @finnzo on whether they should have to wear WT apparel in their private lives, even if only when watching mates at the footy or feeling the need to watch at a private location.

Though even in this day and age where many, and the young in particular constantly share their movements on social media, I certainly don't want our players posting such on their accounts.

I agree that Madden did really well in the trial, however I wont give up on Brooks having a very good year,he still is getting his combinations with Jacko sorted....The commentators all said it will take a bit of time for Brooks/Hastings to gel....when it does I reckon they will be great...
Appreciate the optimism mate haha, I'd love it if they became a brilliant combo for us too cause then we'd have a much better shot of winning games 😂

Didn’t you post about Luke Thompson attending the 1st trial to support Oliver Gildart..
Just confirmed some ones post....

That's a bit different as they're all from England.

Can see you're angle... however, these pair are Tamou are constantly reminding us they love Penrith.

Luke showed love to Oli , not the Tigers.

If you're OK with it you're OK with it.
Some of us are not.

I don’t really care what players do in their private lives or on social media .. as long as it’s nothing illegal..Don’t see any difference with that or Nick Cotrich attending Adam Douiehi’s birthday bash..that got everyone excited

I care what they do on the field… seen no indication that they are not committed to Wests Tigers there..

Two sides to the coin.

I see your point of view but best believe there's some that find it quite disloyal.

It’s not just a one off cause he’s trying to impress that’s how he plays he’s been hooked in the lower grades for doing the same thing

I am very happy to hear that,as i said about Simpkin last year going from dummy half is a great weapon but you have to use it sparingly.Ben Elias was the best at it but he did not overplay his hand that often

They finally figured out how to use Luciano, give him early ball and let him wreak havoc. Shame they only figured it out once he signed elsewhere

Thinking about it actually in his first year here they did it a lot too but last year he was constantly forced to try run holes which just isn't how you use him

Continue to give him good, early ball and have our spine following behind him and he will create a lot of try scoring opportunities.

Lucy was criticized for his lackluster defence all last year and i saw zero on Friday night to say it has improved.Yes he attacked well but that is the lesser part of an edge forwards game,i doubt if he will be given the same luxuries against other teams.

Trust me he was hooked
