well something about those team is not right, players are named in both the 1st and NSW cup teams:

McQueen
Felise
Fanua
etc..

Those players will play NSW cup then back up for the NRL trial. Thats what makes Lolohea's ommission all together baffling.

To be honest though, I actually thought he was playing well and had a good attitude.

The other thing is, he may be looking for a goal kicker and Thomson might be one-up on him that regard.

No position is guaranteed this is what we all wanted…. Lolo played the whole game last week and will be playing another this week ,Thomson is getting a run to see how he goes so I have no prob. Others missing obviously not ready , the coach mixing it up if everybody committed and put in during the off season they should be rewarded with a chance to showcase themselves. It is a trail !

As for the outside back situation, i think guys like Thompson, MWZ and Naiqama knew they were behind the others in the pecking order and busted a gut over the summer. Good for them. Conversely, maybe Fonua cruised a little bit, thinking he only had to show up.

Based on what I saw in Cairns I believe Cleary thinks Thompson may be a better fullback option
I also think Cleary liked what he saw of Gamble
With no Benji this weekend Gable is likely named on the bench round 1 if he plays well
