Triston Reilly #273

Flick him, we need better.

Not sure I would flick him… but standards must be pretty low if people are wrapping him based on the performance yesterday… butchered one try when he tried to pass, and another one when he wouldn’t …

Still,,. Anyone is entitled to more than one opportunity, and I would be happy to see him picked the last two games

Played league in Kempsey but not sure up to what age.
He played league and union up until about 16. Then was picked in Australian 7s. He’s a talent that got away from rugby as Waratahs never gave him a chance. They signed an aging Kurtley Beale for some stupid reason. I think he can be a really solid centre/half for us.

He passes better than anyone in our backline to be honest. Made some mistakes yesterday but expect him to only get better.

Also, having played in Kempsey they aren’t so structured - he can play what’s in front of him and is quite creative.

Good debut.

I just don't see a career first grader there though TBH. Possibly a handy fringe player to have.

Like with Laurie at no6, you wonder why It has taken them so long to give him a go . It’s not like he is being held back by some class players.

Like any player I will give him a few matches before I rate him, but on yesterday he looks like he might offer something as a depth centre

I thought he was good for a first gamer. We can talk about the the bombed tries but I really don't think he's incapable of passing the ball (it probably didn't help he was playing the opposite side he usually does). It's a lot easier working on passing than hole running and positioning. He seems to have a natural talent for these and he's sharp. I don't think he's going to be a Chris Lawrence but he's also not going to be a Keith Eshman.
