Tuqiri set to stay on at tigers

This is another example of the players dictating to the club. Who has the upper hand in these negotiations Tuquiri or the club. If Lote was in demand make no bones he would be go e by now… No other club wants him!

Lote was first signed at the tigers as a publicity magnet, who also happens to play wing. The club will want to keep him on the books as one of the most recognized faces in Australian sport. Especially as they have lost Beau Ryan. I said when we signed him in 2009 that he'd end up wearing a suit, working in publicity and community relations, not running up and down on the wing.

I also agree with those who say that the new coach (who?) should be having input.

round 1 team for 2013.. kinda thought it would be like that from the start

Thats a Sheens team, surely the new bloke won't even have Lote on the books let alone in first grade,Koro and Nofo are the future, not a 33 year old who can't string a few games together, has trouble catching the ball and looks way off the pace of NRL

We signed utai so don't need tuquri thanks. If its a one year deal in minimum wage fine but two years and or anything more money wise and it will be a mistake.

Great signing for 1 year to help koriobete come through. My only condition is that he has removed that damm cast off his arm. However he still looked dangerous just needed to cut out the errors last yr. played as many games as Garth Ellis over the last 3 yrs so wasn't that bad from an injury perspective

Yes neither of them is a what i would want from a first grade winger. They are both going to be even slower than they where this year.all season we lacked pace in the backline until koro was promoted so why on earth would you sign Utai/Lote again. We need pace on the flanks not ageing men in their 30s

1 year I could live with but 2 is stretching the friendship. As long as Koro has one spot sewn up then Lote/Utai can split the other wing spot between them. Rather Utai…

I can understand a 1 year contract so he can nurse the up and coming youngsters…but a 2 year deal??????
It will be like trying to milk a dead cow. :deadhorse:

No sir, I don't like it.

Thanks for your efforts on and off the field Lote but we have younger and faster blokes in the club who deserve a chance now.

Sign up for a back office job to top up your super but please don't take up a roster spot.

Considering Marika should start on one wing, and if Utai is going to be a benchy then I'd give Lote one more year, but that's it.

Realistically Nofoaluma will still be eligible for 20s next year so may get some time in the NRL as Marika did this year, injuries pending. He will be better for more time in the Toyota Cup and being brought through properly.

Sorry, clicked the wrong button there!

I thought Lote signed a 1 yr deal a couple of weeks ago, about the same time Ryan announced he was leaving. I could accept a 1 year deal (if cheap), but certainly not 2\. It's either 1 year or out the door now

Even a 1 year contract is a disgrace and a joke to our young development that's coming through , we have players waiting that will do a better job than him.

In Two minds about this ..can live with a one contract adds a bit of stability as long as Koro is on one wing and with some good luck Lote could have a Stella final season.

As well as the u/20s players there are 2 flyers in NSW CUp who would be worth considering far cheaper options then Tuquiri… Hitchcox and Grant both would add speed to the backline. Grant may need longer but Hitchcox would be ready for a crack when ever.
