Two hookers

If Sheens persists with Lui, he should be made the bench hooker/utility. Would do a good job there IMO.

Lui would slot into dummy half as he should be able to adapt to that type of passing game, he can also kick (as long as he avoids kicking down opponents throats) but his defence is a concern. Farah chalks up heaps of tackles so Lui would have to be placed in the line where he wasn't exposed as its not certain he could match Farah's defensive effort (in fact I'm not confident he could).

lui shouldnt be in 1st grade period until he improves

Agree, my comment is based on the fact that Sheens won't drop him and in the context of the thread title.

you guys are crazy….Farah needs to play 80 every week for us to make the semis.

Farah does need to be on the field for the full 80 minutes, the suggestion was that Lui could slot into hooker, based on comments in this thread,if that ever happened then Farah could move to half as a suggestion not come off the field. He sparked WTs attack when he moved to that positional play against the Bulldogs so whilst its not beyond him, he is a better hooker forward.

Farah tried very hard tonight against the Cowboys to lift his own game and that of the team. He made a couple of mistakes but these were outweighed by his good play. This performance further showed how he is needed on the field and his game at hooker will improve as he gains confidence and the team starts to regain momentum in the competition.

fair enough Cunno I thought people were saying he should be replaced.

Fultons try was a great example of what you are saying.

That set went
Farah dummy, Marshal 1st receiver,
Farah dummy, Marshal 1st receiver,
Farah dummy, Marshal 1st receiver, then robbie stayed wide and it went
Beau? dummy, Marshal 1st receiver, Farah 2nd receiver, try.

Point being when we are down that end those two boys need to touch the ball once each per tackle.

Good point Stryker and well set out in your set explanation. We'll see what tricks they can come up with against the rorters.

farah and marshall have playd with each other for so long,
them and sheens should figure out what works and what doesn't/

fulton would be a very good utility player starting on the interchange. he can come on and play some dummy half

x 2 Alien and we lose nothing in defence either

Agree as well about Fulton, when he goes to hooker, what would happen to Farah? rest or half or another position?

We should never had allowed Halatau to leave. He did the role brilliantly for about 4 games.

I hope you are being sarcastic.

really????

i thought halatau was a gun from dummy half in the latter stages of matches..

you also have to remember that when he did get his opportunity, our pack had very little go forward. so it didnt help his cause..

i think he's exactly the sort of player we need right now.

I agree. Having an impact hooker coming on for even 15-20 minutes can change the game. When Moltzen was named at 14 this year I thought he would be doing a fair bit of this and it could be a real revelation with his pace around the ruck, but it never got shown.

I think the opposite, he's exactly the sort of player we don't need.

Halatau looked good for 14 odd weeks in 2005 and mainly benefited from the fast ruck. The only thing he offered was scooting out from dummy half off a quick play the ball. The game is not like that at all at the moment, much slower and very tough to make metres out of dummy half - ask Robbie Farah.

Halatau has played barely two or three adequate games since we won the premiership. I watched him a couple of weeks ago for the Dogs - he played hooker and was terrible. Poor and slow passing, zero creativity.

Halatau would tuck it under his arm and run even if there was a five man overlap. Very one dimensional player who we have not missed at all.

Rest Cunno I think or if Lui wasn't having a great game . Whenever we can get Farah and Marshall at 1st reciever it can only be good for the Tigers

Nah. Robbie needs to direct the play from dummy half at times. Ther reality is he packs in at hooker when we defend, and lock when we attack. He definitely needs to spend some time at first or second receiver but I'm happy with him running on in the 9 jumper.
