Updated Membership Numbers

For people pointing to our form in 2012 as a reason, Parramatta, who's fans have the reputation for being the most fickle, ad a diabolical 2012 and an even worse 2011, have 11005 members, almost double what we have churned out. The club needs to review their membership packages and pricing for next season, the numbers we have put forward are disgraceful.

West Tigers supporters, your team needs your strong encouragement especially during this season which is sure to present many talented up and coming WT players. It is not a good feeling for the players when a home ground game has more away team supporters than home team supporters.

Every supporter likes the feeling of winning but the feeling is better if you are one who didn't hop on the bandwagon half way through the season.

Yeh, I thought the club made it far too convenient with all the different packages and grounds we have….I thought we were spoilt, convinced now

Thinking of signing up for the Claws Silver as the SFS is walking distance from my place.

I have plenty of reasons why I am not renewing, starting from club related factors like a poor turnout in 2012 with little accountability from the club/playing group/former coach and the fact my LO seats are now gold seats to external factors like my house being built and paying off our wedding.

I will continue to support the club by making it to home games when opportunity arises but I cannot commit the $1000+ dollars I usually spend toward the club this year in memberships and merchandise.

I have renewed (Ultimate Gold) but the Club needs to seriously look at its membership packages and they way it chops and changes the packages each year.

I can see a big drop could be attributed to the fact that they shafted the Leichardt silver members hoping to get more money out of them for the same run down facilities and seats. Same with ticking off the GA members by booting them out of the old GA seats on the hill side.

Money is tight and by doing that they have probably turned off a large part of last years members resulting in the figures we see today.

Team Performance plays a part but I don't think it's to blame. The finger should be pointed at the front office and the decisions they made in regards to the membership packages this year.

Well said… Spot on !

Now we have another plea from the Wests Tigers about signing up new members, in the form of a Paul Sironen video. It would seem management are realising that their goal is an awfully long way away, but their only tool used so far is to get big names to ask us to sign up. A rethink is drastically needed in how the club treats its members.

Yeah I just saw that and made my comments known on Facebook as well. I then missed a call on my phone an hour later from the tigers membership department. Wonder what they want?

Will call them back tomorrow.

Dont be too critical on FB, or even ask questions like me…they dont like it, they'll block you from posting.....will still take your money however

I don't even both with the club on FB Ink. I have them on there so I have quick access to articles on the phone, but that's about it. I understand when they remove abusive posts but constructive criticism even seems to vanish readily from the page.

Every time i ring them up @ Burwood they say WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU & i dont hear from them, the latest is i didnt receive my members ticket to the games & that they will get back to me, that was nine days ago. As for 12,ooo members no chance as they dont go out hustling for members where it matters.

No wonder they didn't provide a hat or badge this year, I just received an email saying that they will soon be releasing exclusive members merchandise. I bet this includes hats, badges and keyrings. They raise membership fees and then charge for standard components of most clubs membership packages.

The old double whammy eh….nothing like screwing your supporters

It was a big part of the fan feedback wanting members exclusive gear in last years market research

Im sure it was not at the expense though of the general members kit items that were usually included in a membership…..great oppotunity for the club though to gouge more out of us

Yeah I bet their eyes lit up when they heard that, another revenue stream. But lets not just create new merchandising opportunities for members, lets charge them for stuff that has been included in memberships in the past. Not really good enough is it.

Thats a pretty obvious cash grab from the members. Very ordinary if you ask me.
I have been an out of town member for a few years now, just to support the club as you dont really get anything for your money except for a hideous cap. Now you dont even get that.
I'm leaning to not renewing this year and just getting a good looking cap from a retailer.

Don't feel obliged to renewing the out of towners as there is no real value in it , and if you don't ? doesn't make you any less of a fan than any of us …..
I'm not a member , but i do contribute in other ways , when i went to Sydney last year spent $620.00 at the Wests Tigers shop in Macarthur i think it is , in one transaction buying Tiger jerseys for the whole family and other stuff , so just cause i don't feel there is value in an out of towners membership , it doesn't make me feel any less of a supporter than a season ticket holder , just getting to Sydney once a year to a game actually cost's more than a season ticket .
