Very small crowd at Campbelltown tonight.

Why are people jumping up and down over ONE trial game?

There may be a minor backlash by the old magpie faithful, but we should at least wait until we are half way through the season or the season is over before making any judgements.

I live in Campbelltown area and there has been NO mention of tonights game in Campbelltown at all. I have seen no promotion at all, maybe that is partly the fault of the club, but I don't think it's the fans fault that the crowd was so small tonight.

This. I forgot the game was even on until a couple of hours before it had started. Maybe I missed the advertisements or whatever but the only mention of the game that I have seen has been on the official website.

Just returned from Campbelltown. Pleased to report that my car was still there after the game. Phew.

Maybe that's why people don't go to the games at CSS?

Your post doesnt doesn't even make sense you fool,
So what are you saying, people don't go to CSS because their car is still their after the game.

Tell me hybrid, how many cars have you lost at campbelltown.
Maybe if you pulled your head out of you backside and opened your eyes you wouldn't have to worry about miss placing your car.

Sorry hybrid, its not funny at all, to be honest most of us are sick of these comments about Campbelltown,
so go take your stupid comments back to where ever you come from, we don't need them on the forum

:bash

It was a harmless joke you fool. Get a grip.

Perhaps you should direct your last line at the tens of thousands of locals who are apparently screaming for more games at Campbelltown yet did not attend tonight.

I was there tonight and go to watch regardless of where we play, so I don't have an issue with CSS.

Somebody call a Wambulance for Mr Bug please?

So you complain there aren't enough games at Campbo and when they move a trial and nobody turns up you still have a whine. What would you have Humphreys do? Have the good people of Macarthur forced at gunpoint to attend?

If there was a thread for the dopiest most misguided whinge of the year, this will be tough to top. Surely he's having a laugh?

It was a trial. Laying blame at the CEO of the Wests Tigers is a cop out, no two ways about it. Campbelltown want more games, well tonight they got one. Unless Humphreys somehow threatened thousands of rugby league fans in the south west of Sydney to stay away, I really don't see the point of this thread. It really is a poor excuse to point the finger at Humphreys yet again. And if it continues to spiral and become the vendetta which it appears to be, then it will close, or be deleted.

It is not a cop out at all. You need to look at the broader picture of what is happening down here. Dont close your eyes. Open them.
The buck stops with HUMPHREYS. Dont threaten to close or delete this thred. It is a genuine problem and a genuine concern.
The point of this thread is the tragic ignorance of the South West Corridor by Steven HUMPREYS is have a bad effect on this area.

Can we seriously stop talking crap about Campbelltown? It's getting really old.

I've grown up in Campbelltown and have been to as many games as I can possibly get to regardless of the location. I remember leaving school early on a monday to get to games at LO, leaving TAFE and work early to get to games at the SFS, ANZ and Blue Tongue on a friday night, will be having the day off work to go to the rd1 clash at LO and intend to do the same for every one of our home games this year, regardless of the stadium.

As far as I'm concerned I don't rate LO as a stadium but will make the trip, put up with the lack of parking and lack of facilities and I'll do this because I want to support my team. It just seems to me that some of the old Balmsin supporters still have issues with the merger and can't be bothered to travel to Campbelltown. If all the old Wests supporters had that attitude then LO wouldn't get the numbers it does.

It's been said before but people need to get over it, get over the stigmas of travelling to Campbelltown and forget these stupid remarks about their hubcaps being taken during the game.

The reality is your team has 3 home grounds and I'm prepared to say if your not going to go to games and make snide remarks about the low attendance of games, your against everything the WT have tried to achieve these past 12 years.

It's time everyone gets behind their team regardless of where they are playing, not just supporting them out of LO or CSS.

I understand there are reasons why some may not be able to make it and whilst they may be valid reasons such as family, work and the like, it does not give others the excuse to sit at home when they could be at the game, then make stupid remarks about the low attendance.

I don't really care about trial crowds but I don't think you can blame a lack of publicity. There was a fair a bit of coverage in the papers before the game and I'm sure it must have been in the local papers. The Gosford game was heavily hyped.

Who knows why the crowd was down - maybe a few thousand made the trip to Blacktown to laugh at Izzy…

We need the Wests Tigers in these peoples faces every day !!!!!! Less inner west, more South West.

50/50 like it should be.

Wests Tigers need to embrace and guide the culture of people and their families down here. They need to enter the lives of people down here. That is what I am talking about.

how many balmain supporters turned up to this event tonight?
seems like no one likes the old magpies from the balmain side of the jv
do x balmain supporters run the forum? it seems its ok to bag the magpies but not ok to bag balmain. will this in-house fighting ever stop .
i on a personal note i think campbelltown is a much better place to watch the footy than Leichhardt Oval, maybe humpty will see the light one day

Well what would you suggest? What should Humphreys have done that would have made a realistic difference to tonight's crowd numbers?

The point of this thread is you dislike our CEO and won't let reality get in the way of a mega whinge…

Have a listen to yourself… Balmain supporters? And I thought we were Wests Tigers fans.

I didn't go tonight because it was a trial and I live in Umina. Went last week to Gosford. I'd say the main issue with attendance for most people is distance rather than safety. You're entitled to your view on CSS vs LO as a venue but it has stuff all to do with the thread.

My eyes are open Bug, I was there tonight and it's not Humphreys who is ignorant of the south west. The south west had the chance to attend an NRL trial tonight and sadly a lot of people didn't. That's not Humphreys fault, it's just another attempt from you to put the boot in so to speak as you're blinded by your hatred of Humphreys and Sheens and it really is getting tiring.

These threads are not productive in any way, shape or form and do nothing but create more friction among supporters.

Nothing wrong at all with watching football at Campbelltown, the ground was in great condition and the stadium was also easy to get into, and out of. Please don't try and stir the pot with this Balmain v Wests crap. We're simply not going to tolerate it on here as it detracts from the overall aim of supporting the Wests Tigers.

Yossarian,
Its not about what Humphreys should have done to have increased the crowd just for tonight, its the whole scheme of things for what he is not doing for this area down here and in Liverpool. Im not talking just tonight, Im talking ever since he took over.

Liverpool is a huge area. You can walk around that CBD all day and not see one person wearing Wests Tigers apparel.

He is failing miserably. Campbelltown is not much better. James TEDESCO was from Camden, ask him personally what its like and see what he says. Ask all other 1st graders who have come from this area. See what they say.

The Magpies NEVER achieved the cultural foothold in the SW that you want the JV to achieve - unlike Balmain in its traditional areas!!

As for being in "peoples faces" - do you have a clue????

How the frick is training at Concord being hugely visible in the inner west - it ISN'T!!!

But maybe people there are adult enough to not need to be force-fed or bribed to support their team!!!!~

So it's Humphreys fault that people in the south west don't necessarily support the Wests Tigers? Heaven help anyone who chooses to follow a sporting team outside of their local geographic area :deadhorse:

I dont want to cause friction with anyone. I love Wests Tigers more than anyone.

Its hurts me to see what is happening down here. Wests Tigers need to act upon it now !!! Its Humphreys job to fix this terrible mess and give this area of Liverpool / Campbelltown / Camden a team that they can call there own.

Marketing and Publicity is one thing but CONSTANT PRESENCE is another. That is what we need.

Wests Tigers need to be down here equally. Its up to him to fix the problem.

Best start typing him a polite and succinct email or letter outlining your concerns then Bug, because as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, nothing will be achieved in this thread other than the same old arguments being put forward.

Fair dinkum mate - what a load of complete bollocks!!!

You have am inexplicable personal axe to grind with certain individuals at the club - so stop trying to masquerade as anything more than the troll and death-rider that you are!!!
