sharks have made terrible Signings for sure

Yet still consistently make the 8

They have never won a premiership.

Here you are in another thread trying discount Flanagan and protect the mighty Madge.
Go check the history records mate, and while you are at it, go and watch the souths games from 2014, and tell me they didn't get a leg up from officials on an almost weekly basis

Salary Cap cheat, drug cheat, coaching while suspended cheat. If he was a good coach, why does he have to cheat so much.

I see you down voted me, kudos mate, and all the while Flanagan was winning a comp, we were missing the 8 again, I know which one I prefer

I did not downvote you in this thread. Flanagan only won the comp because it would have been too embarrassing for the NRL to take it away. If he was a good coach he wouldn't have to cheat so much.

I checked the history books and it showed that Flanagan has been suspended twice for his behaviour as a coach. I'm not interested in anything else history has to say about him, he is a cheat.

Who won a premiership and is in touch with the modern game, right now I will take that, 10 years of failure lets you overlook some things

There is no proof he is anymore in touch with the modern game than Madge. Yeah won a Grand Final with a team that what was the quote? Under the cap on the day of the Grand Final. I wouldn't let him anywhere near young players with his past, we have a responsibility to the welfare of the player we employ.

The coach or the players or both..Both for mine. Just easier to sack the coach

New coach, who can spend the cap money we have on new players.

That should be plan A, letting Madge spend more money then sacking him is a waste of time, puts us back a few years, rip the bandaid off now and give us a chance to recover

As I have just said in the Madge thread, I'm struggling with the better option.

But we are not sacking the coach, you may want it, but the club doesn't seem to?

We need to replace non-performing players. So new players need to be found?

BTW, no one is letting one person spend money, its a recruitment team decision.

SHOOSH

The Sunday 4pm game is a huge one for Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire against his old club the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Despite recent assurances from chairman Lee Hagipantelis that Maguire’s job is safe, we’re hearing the Wests Tigers board is not fully united on this issue after the last-start 50-point shellacking from Melbourne Storm. Another big loss against Souths will leave directors under enormous pressure to take action.

He’s just writes stories out of thin air. Just another opinion.

Where are we getting all these players, as far as I can see, only Brooks, Stef and Laurie are having a dig and playing for the coach. Madge couldn't attract one good player, how is he gonna get 14 of them, sacking him is the smart move

Money, we have a some available.
I think there are a few more than who you mention that would be keepers?
It's more who we drop or let go, would be the issue? The non-performers as you state?
For me: A new winger, centre, 5/8, second row, and a prop would be a good start to requirements. Maybe some of the lower grade guys could come up?
I wont name names out of respect to the players, but I am sure we could all join a few of the dots?

Buzz talking about the documentary. Airs Monday week apparently.

TWO SIDES TO MAGUIRE FIRE

For a man with such a tough and aggressive exterior, there is a softer and more emotional side to Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire that we’re about to see.

A new documentary on Fox Sports shows he’s not all about kicking over dressing room chairs and roasting his players after frustrating losses.

You’ll get to see it from Monday, July 19, when Fox League launches Wild Wests – Tales from Tiger Town in a four-part documentary. It’s interesting because Maguire’s sometimes explosive antics and reputation as a tough, over-the-top taskmaster are often seen as a reason why the Wests Tigers struggle to snare big-name players.

Viewers will get never-before-seen, raw and unfiltered access to the highs and lows of a season that has challenged players, staff, and fans both on and off the field.

All up, Fox League did more than 500 hours of filming.

In the first episode, Maguire is seen almost breaking down in the dressing sheds after a 36-22 loss to the Parramatta Eels.

“I just want to say what you guys are building is right,” Maguire says.

“You had that team on the f…ing rack, ready to be beaten. And they’re a top-four team.

“We’re all hurting, I understand that.

“But what you’ve got to understand here is that … (long pause)

“I keep going back to … (long pause) f…ing hell, you’ve got me, you blokes.

“I just saw the effort out there is what we’re about as a team. You keep putting that effort in and we’ll grow this team

“I’m a little bit emotional here because of the f…ing effort we’re putting is right and I want you to f…ing believe that.”
