Watchful Tigers keen to snare Blair

Dear Spartan 117 -

Blair has said in the past that he prefers to play prop. Has played prop at Melbourne with a lot of success.

Imagine a set of 6 with Galloway, Blair, Ellis, Gibbs and Heighington running at the defence. It will then allow Marshall and Lui to weave their magic.

I am a fan of Gibbs especially his defence but consider him too small to play prop.

Given we now have Galloway, Fifita, Woods and hopefully Blair I would have Gibbs in the
second row along with Ellis.

Gibbs has a big motor and could probably play 80 minutes in the second row or at lock.

Blair would give our pack much needed grunt.

I didnt know that about Blair and you have sold me on Gibbs.

Either way - I want Blair in Black Gold and White

In the telegraph today says hes agreed verbally to play at concord next year, but it probably depends on what Mr Sheens does now, i guess

Do we have a Sherlock Holmes amongst the forum members who can provide a scoop on a date for the possible announcement of the signing of Adam Blair? Alternatively a forum member who has cousin who has an Uncle who has a Grandfather who has a next door neighbour who regularly has breakfast with Stephen Humphries?
IMO $500,000.00 per season (if paper talk is correct) is far too much for someone like Blair and that is also considerate of 3rd party payments. But saying that I will be happy to have him as part of the 2012 roster if we can keep Fifita and Brown!

8\. Blair 9\. Farah 10\. Galloway 11\. Dywer 12\. Ellis 13\. Heighingtion 14\. Fulton 15\. Gibbs 16.BMM 17\. Woods 18\. Fifita …. Player on the bench will be let go !!! I am saying Fifita !

It's a bit puzzling as to why Blair hasn't signed yet. $500k a year to play football for a club like the Wests Tigers should be very appealing to a player I would have thought unless he is waiting for a bigger offer from say Newcastle or the Storm may be trying to work something out, then again maybe the reported $500k isn't the correct figure on offer???

Watched him again on the weekend would love to have him at our club he has mongrel. In my opinion we can't afford to lose any of Fifita, Wood, BMM or Dwyer. If Blair signs I would be pushing Payten to the coaching staff.

I think the pack next year will be:

Galloway
Farah
Blair
Fulton/Dwyer
Ellis
Heighintion

Dwyer/ Fulton ( he can cover many positions but I like him starting)
Woods/ Gibbs
Fifita
BMM

That pack for the next 2-3 years should win a competition if they stay healthy

Hopefully Benji will get in his ear this week and we will hear something soon.

As for Loosing a player or two, It's painful and inevitable. I'm sure Humphreys and the coach are aware of all the scenarios.

Apart from Scott Prince I cant recall a player that we really wanted to stay leaving the club in the last few years.

Blair will be #1 in offloads if he comes to the club, the result of many broken 2nd phase plays.. Not only is he a machine, but he has a great set of hands similar to the likes of Sonny Bill with his 1 hand carrys & offloads.

I am yet to see him have any impact in 2011\. I will watch again with interest how he goes with the Kiwis.

He was fairly handy against Newcastle on the weekend too.

Are Chances dont look good. The Roosters have also been linked to Williams’ former New Zealand teammate Adam Blair, but it is understood they are not realistic contenders for the Melbourne forward.Instead, Parramatta and Wests Tigers are leading the race for Blair, although the Tigers could find it hard to make room for him.Read more: http://www.zerotackle.com.au/#ixzz1LKawjjIk
