Thought the overall turnout was poor. Too many people choosing to stay at home or go to the pub to watch the game. St George and the Dogs got 35,000 out to the same venue on a Friday night but between us we could just get 18,000\. Do their fans love their club more than we do?
With a family of 4 children and working a 24/7 roster I understand the pressures of getting to games but if you are serious about supporting the club and live in Sydney these are the games we need to turn up at. It's no good getting on the bandwagon come finals time and filling out the stadium the team need support all year.
Yes it's cold and sometimes it rains but that is what supporting is all about. It's also about not leaving at halftime or before the final siren.
I know this will upset some as everyone has their own particular circumstances be it financial or geographical but I’m fed up with hearing especially after losses like we had on Saturday talk of lack of commitment of the players and their not fit to wear the shirt but it works both ways. Yes the players get paid a good wage but your support of them is YOUR choice no one is forcing you and every now and then you need to step up and be counted.
How good would it have been to out-number the Bunnies fans at their home ground, it was more than achievable. How many of us will be there on Saturday night at Campbelltown this Saturday? How many will stay at home because it's warmer, easier or just can't be bothered. If the reason is the later thats fine but if we lose please don’t come on here moaning about our season being over.
If you vote in an election you earn the right to criticise the government for screwing up Public Transport, if you choose not too you waive that right. It’s no different if you choose to stay at home when you could just as easily go to a game.
Put up or shut up.
