Wayne Bennett - Head of Performance and Culture

i would rather have sheens back than bennett ever coach us
and i want neither near the club

Lets let Madge get hes own team instead of all the bad stuff ivan left behind,we have 9 players off contract this season and 13 next so hes def gonna have the cap space esp if we can get rid of mbye

but yeh looking at who madge has bought in so far they all have something to offer Blore,Leilua bros and Doueihi

Bennett is a myth and NO ONE will ever change my view on that. He has only won premierships when there is unlimited money on offer for salary and recruitment.

When the money dried up a little at Brisbane with the demise of the 'Clydesdales', he couldn't get out of there quick enough. As you may remember, he was off to the Roosters until that secret got out (and that club isn't exactly on the straight and narrow with money, and we see what it can do because Trent Robinson has managed).

Off to St George where Doust promised unlimited money to win a comp, and he too an already top4 team to a premiership.......with that unlimited money. Then he left St George when Tinkler came up at the Knights with you guessed it....unlimited money.

Tinkler got found out and fell over, Wayne was out of there like a shot in the night and couldn't even honour his contract.

Everyone knows what happened to both St George and Newcastle after he left.

Back to Brisbane, again with some money after the earlier scandal died down, but he couldnt compete. Off to Souths with the Gladiator and his cash. No shock there.

As I said, the guy is a myth. With the players he had through the 90s and early 2000's, and with the under the table money, he should have won 15 comps. He won 5 or 6 and only one more since then. And with all that, he still doesn't have the best winning percentage.

Again, the guy is a myth and some players love him because they get the extra coin and they get to run their own show.

MYTH BUSTED!

We won't get Wayne.
Sheens is an idea, he is Unique in the game. He came up with so many plays, I remember a commentator saying "there are 12 teams copying Melbourne. Only Manly, West Tigers and <can't remember whowere doing something different".
The other big advantage to Sheens is he is a good person coach.

McGuire wanted to bring in Laurie Daily. MAN he would have been an awesome coaching assistant and I would like to see Daily put on the coaching jumper here. Had Daily been on our staff we would have nabbed Mitchell Latrell as he would have been able to impart the culture we were building here. Opposed to signing for Souths for unders.

One thing I really liked about Sheens was the way he would come up with a new plan every week for the team we were playing. To me it seemed like he put a lot of work into researching and planning for each game, although, especially towards the end of his tenure he really seemed to lose the plot with some of his team selections.

So true. Although I kinda get why.
Blair, was a massive impact forward for the storm. He never seemed to be a key player for them but I can see how Sheens thought he would add to our team. Instead we discovered that he played his part in a big team exactly. Not a part of "I will run a little out of position because were loosing on the other side". It revealed how sloppy our forwards training and positioning was.

Then Anasta.. The Bulldogs ace. He was a gun for Easts too and able to put us to the sword in 2009.
By the time we got him though he was clearly ready for the glue factory. Yet:
Marshall and Farah needed someone else to come up with some plays. The way to beat the tigers was to isolate these two players.

Sadly Sheens never got the chance to execute his changes. I kind of wish he got to his second year contract, just so that Mick Potter could start afresh.

Seems like a pretty good coach to me 🤷‍♂️

What you are doing is effectively undermining the coach. So my answer is no. But the provision of an officer to organise pathways, training programmes etc reporting to the Football Manager would be a good idea.

Latest Rumor - Wants the Broncos coaching job again.
Bit disrespectful towards Walters if that's true.
Time to retire Wayne after Souths.

A very big no to Payten

Wayne seems to joins teams with promising rosters or a huge salary cap to play with. Two things this club won’t have for some time.

He is not interested in rebuild, he wants instant success.
