@Geo. said::laughing: The last 4 years have been Broncos, Storm, Manly, Storm….....
Only a change in Salary Cap could change that.....
@innsaneink said:You only gotta look at this weekends games minus 30 odd best players

Well what does that show? That doesn't really answer any of my questions… Could you elaborate?

Aww come on, don't be like that… I'm not trying to be snotty, I just want to know what your on about. Do you possess the ability to answer questions and explain opinions, or is that somehow beneath you?
@Jazza said:I think what Ink is saying if you look at the games so far this weekend, they have been very poor quality with the Origin stars missing.
I haven't seen many matches this round so I cant comment but I do think that whilst the salary cap is evening out the competition, it is also making it a poorer product in the process and that younger players are being exposed to early through lack of depth.

yeah the salary cap is working and its an even comp…
Nah man what it shows is that there is simply not enough first grade standard players in the comp anymore. The NRL needs to shed at least two clubs to survive.
I would seriously rate our season a 5/10 so far…and we're a chance at being third on the ladder after this round. Saints and Panthers deserve their positions but we are very lucky. We cant possibly miss the 8 with the comp being so inconsistent....surely??
@Juro said:To me, the salary cap goes a long way to ensuring an even comp. The level of the salary cap determines the quality of the comp. **It is up to everyone involved in rugby league (players, clubs, administration) to raise the value of the game so the cap can be raised. If the cap was higher, rugby league would be stealing players from other codes instead of the other way around.**
And I don't think contraction is going to save the NRL. All that would do would be to ensure a slow death as the value of the comp would fall, the salary cap would need to be tightened and more talent would be lost.

Thanks jazz…I knew it was straightforward, and its not just this round but most rounds usually, I find we get two very good games and 6 or so pretty average ones.
Dont even start me on the refs
Expansion will dilute the talent further....do we not remember not too long ago, the 20 teams cock up?
