We have major issues

The attitude of the players tonight really disturbed me tonight Angry about everything ,poor discipline the whole 9 yards

They talk about being brothers ,but at the moment they seem like step brothers who aren't happy about the whole situation

I want them to play with mongrel , but I reckon there is more to all of this that meets the eye

Maybe because its the lack of control they have ,which they probably had with Sheens which might be hard to cope with

Did anyone feel the same ??

Potter needs three years….probably more
Whether he gets it is another thing

Yep I agree But I'm getting more at the dummy spitting Ink

Is is passion or something more sinister ?? My concern is it is the latter ?? I'm not trying to mind read but something seems wrong

time to blood some State Cup players Harry Potter.

Maybe give Marshall a rest and try Anasta at 5/8

Need pace in the Centres and wings. Hello Nofo, Brien and Simona

The attitude was different last week Happy they were a lot more positive I know parra isnt manly, so if they can be positive some weeks and not bad every week then I don't think there's a tussle between the players and coach. Not being able to score off those repeat sets dinted our blokes confidence and inflated manlys and it went on from there. Our forwards need more mongrel, I saw a glimpse of this when pettybourne put a nice hit on in the second half give him more game time apart from this and woods usual top effort our forwards were outplayed as the game went on and we lack some attacking runners especially with Koro out we rarely see breaks from our centres for example.

Simona is not very quick, and has too much hype around him, he's nothing special at all

re-building is OK. but not even for a second do i want our players to give up. keep trying and trying.

dont think of this season as a write off, or a game as a write off, or even a play as a write off. work hard.

i feel that too happy.. some of them dont wanna be out there.

Benji needs a rest, his contribution is very minimal at present. I think it's time to take the shackles off the Benji & Robbie show. It's not working. Anasta obviously does not want to step on anyones's toes, being the new kid on the block. He has a better kicking game than Benji & Robbie, but is not being utilised. he needs to be the play maker in the forwards as Robbie can't do it all himself.
Potter needs to inject BMM & Pettybourne more in the game. Fulton is no longer useful as a starting player. OK off the bench when the big men tire.
Manly bent us backwards in every tackle tonight. We need more size & effort if we are to avoid bottom 4.
Robbie's replacement was absolutely unbelievable. Our best player, captain & inspiration replaced by a reserve grader at best. Game was lost in the 20 minutes Robbie was off.
I don't think we will see such a blunder from Potter again. He's an L plater in the NRL, but will learn quickly,I hope?

What for another 3 years ? Another recruiting masterstroke.

Here's another even scarier thought

We have Fulton and Farah on the bench at the same time

And people were concerned with our defence before

Outside Woods and Farah the forwards just dont have what it takes. You put anyone of them in a good side and they would go okay but collectively they dont have it and never will.

Even the Dragons would have scored with that much ball in the first 20mins. On a dry hard track Manly could have scored 60 plus points. I dont know what the answer for 2013 is but at least they have a good break between the storm game to freshen up.

Basically we are paying for some terrible recruitment and retention over the past few years

Yeh….even letting someone like Kite seemingly skip on right by to be signed by Penrith without us apparently even showing interest, yet linked to Joel Clinton the next day whos best years were 6 odd years back....shows me where we are at

At least kite is up to NRL speed right now, clinton would take weeks to get there if at all

I am usually on board with your input to the forum, but not this.

Tonight we were not exposed via our pack, even against one of the toughest mobs in the league. We lost off poor play by the spine. Benji kicking like a tard, and repetitively to the same side, Farrah being lazy sending forwards inside straight into the markers, and just all over poor direction. The pack played a well solid game even though low on ranks. We were let down by those in charge of the helm.

Was that Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell sitting in the coaches box.
That's all we need Potter to be taking tips from the recruitment guru who has put us in this mess.

Yeh I agree with you….the post you quoted was more about where we are recruitment, financial and mindset wise of our admin - more than tonites game

I don't think it's fair to narrow it down to one thing. Farah and Benji put in some good kicks during the 6 repeated sets. Our inability to finish them off hurt us as well as not even being able to score in the 6 repeated sets.
Benj missing an easy 2 points (or even electing to take them was a mistake). Next Farah gets taken off who is clearly carrying the spine at present.
Teddy being utilised out of position.
Manly scoring first points after their 2nd or 3rd completed set, hurt our mental and psychological being.

So many issues, wrong calls (forward pass, obstruction, knock ons etc) and I hate to be the person to blame the loss on the calls but 1 wrong call can have a massive impact on the game.

We need to use this next little break wisely and patch up holes.
