We need a goalkicker

He is clearly our best options which doesn't speak too much for the other blokes in the FG team. Hopefully he gets a few closer to the posts to start and he gains confidence.
 
His work with Taylor in the off season seems to have put him a little backwards.

Heres hoping it is just a reverse of last years trend and he will kick the ones that really count

Hasn't Lawrence and Moltzen done some goalkicking in the lower grades?

Surely it wont get so bad that Farah and Tuqiri will be in line for it!!!

But he can't do everything

There is a world of difference between a 65% kicker and a 80% kicker.

For example, tonight we would have been up 25-12 rather than 19-12\. I think in the first round he got 3/6 and then 4/6 last week. Tonight he got what - 2 from 5?

It's going to cost us.
 
He probably kicks them all from the sideline at training, but he is doing a lot more work in attack and defense than in the past and I reckon this might have something to do with his record of late. Could also be that our tries are mostly scored in the corners…..
 
Give Lawrence or Farah another shot at the kicking duties. Farah has kicked them from the touchline in the past..
 
I agree - unless he improves, I think it will cost us a game or two tihs season. The annoying thing is - he is an 80% kicker. He just needs to hit a few sweetly, and he will be back.
 
Really, this was obviously an off night for Benji but overall his percentage is very good, yes it would be great to have another kicker in the side as we place too much pressure on Benji to do everything.
I remember a game a few years back when Brett Hodgson didn't play and was it Dean Colliss who came into the side at Blue Tongue and didn't miss a goal.
Yes we need another option but for now it hasn't cost us a game and with Benji working with one of the games greatest kickers he can only get better and better, even Daryl Halligan had an off day that cost Norths a Grand Final spot, Daryl could kick but couldn't score tries like Benji!.
 
No, it wasn't an off night, we seriously need a new goalkicker. Benji kicked at 66% last season. Thats 68/102 according to rleague.com
 
Not having a go at the bloke he's a champion and I love his work but he really needs to improve this or step aside. 16 possible points gone begging so far.
 
JT will eventually get through to him. It'll take a few more weeks, then he should be slotting them from all over the park.
 
He's technique is good, but i noticed the last 2 weeks, when he places the ball he aims it towards the center of the posts… he needs to adjust for the curve he gets... hopefully it gets sorted out soon... because loosing a game after outscoring a side by 2 tries is a bitter pill to swallow...
 
Benji is a champion player and is getting better and better seems to have progressed so much on last season, but have to agree on earlier posts his goalkicking is going to cost us a few games I feel, as a team we need to win close games this is what happened last year we lost 4 or 5 games by 6 points. Cant Pom number 2 kick.
 
I love Benji but dead set - give the goalkicking to someone else.

He is not even striking them clean anymore, that last attempt was very very poor.
