We need a goalkicker

Fifita kicks goals apparently also.

So thats Lawrence, Farah, Flanagan and Fifita as alternatives.

Lawrence was striking them pretty sweet in the juniors and wondered why he never persisted with it.

Maybe Meaney could come on to the wing because i wouldn't be moving Ryan from fullback.I don't think he has had a better game in first grade.
But it certinally the only area we can really say we suck at

   meany? id rather wingers that can score length of the field tries , not try and kick goals..

For starters I think Jason Taylor should not be aloud anywhere near benji or any other kicker in the club ever again.
just because the guy was a good player does not make him a good coach (his time at souths was evident of that). Surely there is a better kicking coach out there, Halligan, El Masri or even Joey Johns could give him a few pointers.

Benji's kicking just seems to be way off these days.
He seems to be rushing his kick and just doesn't look as confident kicking it as he has in previous years.
Maybe he just has too much on his plate guiding the team around and the kicking duties.

Jason Taylor is third on the all time point scoring list, behind Joey and El Masri. He is widely regarded as one of the better goal kicker's in recent times. I think his credentials are more than adequate…

I thought I heard Benji himself say, in regard to his kicking, that he's not doing what JT and himself have been doing. He's hitting them sweet at training, but he's not taking that onto the field.
As said before, give him another couple of weeks for things to start sinking in properly and he'll be right.

Like the one he scored yesterday? Outpacing Luke Capewell to score from 2m out from our line?

Brown will be the wing option used against Canberra and quite frankly he showed enough Friday night to earn that

He kicked 1 from 4 on the weekend didn't he??

1 from 3\. Came off shortly after the 3rd attempt. Thigh heavily strapped from an injury he copped in the first half against Wests. Lazarus missed the last one from the sideline

now id like to see that , any footage ?was it pure brilliance or did he just scoop on a loose ball and scoot away ?

No footage, not the TV game.

Stopped a grubber with his foot, scooped it up with one hand, spun away from two kick chasers breaking the tackles, stepped the kicker and set off down the touchline. Capewell was in front of him about 5-6 metres in field put the throttle down and burnt him, Capewell kept pace for a while but got outdone.

It was a very good play indeed

A friend of mine who kicked at over 90% in Fgrade rugby for quite a few season, said you can either kick or you cant and the only thing a goal kicking coach may help with is your mental preparation. He also said that he thinks Benji will develop into a top line kicker.

I think Benji will be a top line kicker too, his technique appear sound. Just hope the other guys are practicing their goal kicking as well. I would have Lawrence, Farah, Tuqiri (kicked for the broncos and QLD) and Flannagan regularly practicing as well.
