The one bloke who looked like an elite NRL player we had. 295 yards we the Dogs. Solo try through half the Rorters.

Not fair to cast all as revisionist, as some have consistently admired his contributions, yet not considered his the most valuable and that was prior to the rumblings. You can have your opinion, as can others and I have no problem with an evaluation of him being the best, as he was there or thereabouts.

I guess when you are looking to get out of a 3 year contract after half a year for more money - then good stats are necessary to justify such a dog act. He played great, but he is not a great player, yet.

I dont think MCK is a plodder but his natural gifts put him in a bit of an "in-between" position. Fast for a forward but small, slow for a centre.
