We never get credit for wins

Yeah tbh, Brisbane's poor form has been a talking point well before last nights game. Us beating them only made it moreso. Even the Roosters didn't get much credit for thumping Brisbane last week, it was all about how bad the Broncos played.

As long as we get 2 points i couldn't care less. I'd rather not have people talking us up, that never seems to end well.

Wouldn’t worry too much the media is all over the snake move by Seibold and Kevin Walters being snubbed. We need to back it up bearing the Eels and Titans. Games we must win.

Ch9 was praising our pack last night and Wally Lewis was praising our side today as well.

I would agree that prior to last year we may not have been given credit but, it’s hard to argue that in those years we had earnt it.

Last night we were under the pump and we held out the opposition.
We are now days getting a reputation as a solid defencive team that can grind out a win and can hold a lead. I’m happy if we can be that team for the entire season. May break our drought.

I do see your point but the bigger story for the media is the media darlings Bronco's in a 4 game losing streak and Siebold. We did get our due praise but it was almost secondary, i did hear them mention we possibly have the most underrated pack and we played all over the highly fancied Bronco's pack.

I actually don't think Brisbane were that bad last night for large parts of the game. They did a few things poorly and made a few bad errors but generally they played with enthusiasm in attack and certainly defence. I thought we played well to win - a composed and patient game at a generally high level throughout. Our D was solid and our A was improved.

We played well for most of the game against Penrith as well - a bit like Brisbane against us, where we made some crucial errors at specific turning points. Really, the truth is that half decent goal kicking would have put us out of danger. I still can't believe that we lost that game - I honestly can't remember seeing a team play so badly as the Panthers did - yet they still won somehow.

We have a solid side that plays for each other. A couple of smart recruitment and retention decisions have the chance to improve us a lot more.

You don’t need hype to be good.

Yeah, the brocos going 1 from 4 is a pretty big story. Us 3 from 5 doesnt get too many peoples attention.

Except for ten minutes in the Dogs game we have defended probably better than any other team in 2019 and I think most of the media are starting to notice the quality of our defence.

Our attack will get better, Our no1 is struggling, but he will come good. Next week will be the a real test as Parra have been playing with plenty of spirit and have a good attacking game

Yeah look what happened when everyone was patting us on the back and tipping us to easily beat the Dogs.
The favorite tag isn't for us, we don't handle it at all.
I'm happy for nobody to give us credit.

Brisbane did turn up for that game. Up until the 25-30 minute mark they were looking like they were going to put a big score on us. The way we keep turning up for every play made the commentators really see how good our side can be.
BtW how good is it to have a Thursday night win.makes the weekend so good . I enjoyed the Titians comeback win over Penrith.

Last weekend I didn't want to watch any footy after our Friday night loss. That one was hard to take. This made up for it.

I agree, who cares, right? On Foxtel (Kayo) the team are pretty pro-Tigers after the wins, it wasn't so much about Broncos expecting to win.

With Channel 9, they are always more sensationalist than pay TV, always covering the game with a narrative. They aren't just talking pure on-field footy, they have all this other stuff they pedal before and after the game.

That narrative at the moment is the decline of the Broncos and the apparent failure of the massive decision they made last year. Seibold's fairytale from Souths is wearing off and the bloke he replaced has kept the engine running at Souths. And now these Broncos legends coming out and speaking against the current culture, the decisions being made, how Kevvy Walters should have been given the job etc.

So Tigers get a bit lost in all that talk. And Broncos being such a big-town side, relatively modest levels of failure are panic stations for their administration and followers.

Half of the forum don’t give them credit, let alone the commentators.

I didn’t think the commentators were that bad the other night. They were expecting all Brisbane had to do was turn up though. No wonder Johns spat the dummy on them after the game, he spent the majority of the game pumping up their tyres. So they made him look like a fool.

Unfortunately you will nearly always get bias towards the donkeys on TV because they are the largest supporter base in the game and commentators cant afford to antagonise them.TV is all about ratings and keeping them.

Yeah, individual players can be the best on field and still cop it on here, but that is part of what makes this place

@Geo hit the nail on the head. We let them play as good as we allowed them. Our defence is extremely strong, if it holds up we will starch a lot of teams.

Broncos played as well as we let them…simple..

A point often missed whenever we play well. People are quick to say "Team X were woeful in attack" without conceding our defence has been responsible for their poor attack.
There's some truth in the adage you can only play as well as the opposition allow.
