West Harbour Rugby

What's all this fascination with a mediocre club playing an inferior code ?
Does someone here actually play for them ?
Can someone tell me what happened to Drummoyne ?
In 1966 I played a season with them in 3rd grade
The club was called the "dirty reds "
They were at the time one of the top 2 or 3 clubs in Sydney
I remember 1st grade fullback Greg Davis being an international

They were dropped off when new clubs like Western Suburbs and UNSW came in . They play subbies now I believe. The fullback was Arthur McGill who was a Wallaby. Greg Davis was a NZ flanker who was also a Wallaby.

Hi champion @Stevec,
Maybe to answer the above:

West Harbour shares Concord with the Wests Tigers so that was the initial crossover (albeit personally I have a family connection going way back)
Whether someone on WTF playes for them, I cannot say.
The Drummoyne Dirty Reds have a rich history in the Sydney grade comp and currently their senior team fields 5 grades and 2 colts teams in the NSW Suburban Rugby competition or Subbies Rugby.
(I think Greg Davis played breakaway {He was the Australian national captain in 47 matches from 1969 to 1972 and led the Wallaby side on three overseas tours}, while the famous fullback from around that time was Arthur McGill, and he played 21 tests for Australia)

As an aside, here is a pic of a junior Drummoyne team 1985 where one of my friends played 2nd row.

Used to have a nice little licensed club on Victoria Road Drummoyne. I think you’ll find Greg Davis was a breakaway( Kiwi born but played for and captained Australia). Full back for that era was Arthur McGill, they produced a lot of good players over the years. Still around in
Sub District rugby and as competitive as ever, albeit in a lower comp.
