West Harbour Rugby

Champion @Halbrowne61 - winning streaks are so rare! 😉
Actually, West Harbour is home again this Saturday in another hard game, against our neighbors, Western Sydney Two Blues (formerly Parramatta).
The top photo is misleading - the top game relates to Eastern Suburbs.
Sorry mate, got that completely wrong, my apologies. Bloody old timers disease again !
Anyway you are on a streak and Parra beatable at Concord.
I repeat, good luck to the club.

Champion @Halbrowne61 - I was right the first time.
You are a champion.

Yes, there's a different feel at West Harbour - I really hope their hard work pays off.
We have a connection to the 4th grade team and there's a great vibe right down through the grades.

Shute Shield battlers West Harbour don’t have to look too far for inspiration as they attempt to escape the cellar.

The Pirates share facilities with Wests Tigers at Concord Oval’s centre of excellence and often collaborate.

Benji Marshall’s Tigers are joint top of the NRL ladder and on Saturday West Harbour won their first game since May last year, seeing off Southern Districts in the opening round.

The Pirates finished with the wooden spoon in 2025 but are promising bigger and better things. And the Tigers are behind them all the way.

“We’ve got a great relationship with West Harbour. We’re brought together through a shared facility but there’s a genuine care and interest in how each team performs in their respective competitions,” Tigers interim CEO Shaun Mielekamp said.

New coach Ben Rutherford acknowledged the Tigers’ support and is urging his club to restore its own reputation after several seasons of struggle.

“It’s been fantastic to see the Tigers turn the corner after a few lean years and now lead the competition alongside the Panthers,” he said. “We’ve got the best facilities in the Shute Shield and the challenge is to build a rugby program that matches that standard.”
