He tore up a beaten titans side in the final 10 of a game and then featured in back to back losses.

He was still one of their best v. Melbourne, and considering his game time has been doing phenomenally

Got a feeling that Robbie might spend some time as a lock and let him play first or second receiver and they will play Halatau at hooker

Gives us more options if Brooks and Moses struggle and takes pressure off them as well

You are either naive or just plain stupid if you think Anasta will and should be at 6…..Watch some Roosters 2012 games (where he played in the halves all season) and then get back to me.

Austin has around 16 NRL games to his name, roughly 50% of those were in the halves.

Don't give me this crock of shit 'he's not big enough'….Look at young Keary from Souffs he's not big at all by footy terms but was selected based on skill and ability and he's killing it in top grade.

Also if you do want to argue that well there's still another 7 months until March 2014 and much muscle matter and physique toning can be gained in between then....Anything beats having the myth Anasta at 6 if we wanna go down that path we may as well write 2014 off now and save ourselves the heartbreak.

Right, cause Keary is required to play 80minutes week in week out….

And he has 10kg and 3 years on Moses.

Not to mention the forward pack keary has to work with.

Keary looks the good though. Big future no doubt. I'm basing this on the pressure situation against Melbourne. He was a stand out in the game in a losing side.

Yeah hes still here, tweeted earlier that he has started running again. Have to say, he is still in the mix to begin the season. If he stays fit we know Brooks will be at 7, so we will possibly have Moltzen, Austin, Sirro and even Anasta battling for the 6 early on with Moses likely to be brought on later.

Although Sirro appears to have been set on the path to be a forward, so I reckon it will probably be a choice of Austin or Moltzen to begin the year.

Moses has a pretty good frame to put size on quickly

From what I have seen he is better defensively than Marshall at the same age and we put up with his screams of "TAG" for years

I think him having a reco will affect him starting tbh. He seemed to improve tremendously under potter and given how much time we've spent on him- it'd be good to get some benefit from that. Hoping to see him at 5/8 through the middle of the season

It's obviously easy to put on weight, but do you know how long it takes to put on pure muscle and retain speed? I'd assume it'd be a long job to get him up 10-15kg while staying fit etc.

Personally, i rate moses as better than brooks but he won't be playing until midway next season, bar severe injuries in the halves.

With his frame I'd expect him to be able to put on 8-10 kgs in 2 seasons ,you will be amazed once he begins training full time with the weights program they have

But the main point is his defence now is better than Marshalls at the same age and we were prepared to put up with Benji for eleven seasons

Hope he doesn't get injured trying too hard, but you're probably right. He's not your normal ectomorph going to the gym twice a week, eating nothing and complaining he's still skinny :laughing:

Don't really see defence as a massive issue as long as he isnt an obvious target. Most halves are poor defenders, injury is a bigger concern in my opinion.

As for comparisons with benji…. very different time really. Luke burt debuted at 71kg, but these days you would be crucified for letting a kid walk on the field like that. Seems a lot more physical, bigger packs etc.

As I'd expected you didn't address my point about Anasta because you have no reply (you're either his mate or watched your last game of footy in 2010 if you genuinely believe he should be starting 6 irrespective of what you think about his competition).

Its not realistic that they'll debut with two starting halves and that was never my implication that this would happen, it would however be more viable option IMO and others opinions than seeing Bwaith occupy this position. My best guess is that either Austin (who WILL be fine for next year) or Sirro will occupy the five eight role until Potter bites the bullet with Moses.

But please, on what basis would you be playing Anasta in the halves you're either overtired or are taking the piss…

I would much prefer Brooks and Moses as starting halves than to have Anasta in the team in any capacity.
