I know it’s only Clarkeys Column on Facebook, but it’s interesting see all the comments from people who are tipping tigers for the spoon or bottom 3.

Do we purely look through rose coloured glasses as fans or is our side actually that bad compared to the rest of the comp?

West tigers to recalim finals glory and finish 5th at seasons end

Rabbitohs Sharks and Knights are all suprise dropouts of the top 8 and are replaced by titans Saints and warriors

Broncos fall to a consecutive 2nd wooden spoom after playerfallout midyear

Bulldogs show strong signs for 2022 season by finishing 9th on the ladder at season end..

We don't have any real stars and we've lost one of the best hookers in the game and our best middle forward. That is from a year where we came well down on the ladder.

I think we may surprise on the upside and I think the club are consistently making good decisions but we need heaps of players to play way above what they have in the past to even make the 8.

If we can't dramatically improve our defence and Brooks has a 2020 season ......

As we all know FB is a major concern,I would like to see Kepoa given a crack in the absence of Laurie.The centres under massive pressure to perform,i think they will, or they are gone and Kei is avaiable mid year and looks good..I think Brooks is underrated,and if Doeihi doesn't perform Madden is in.This is the best forward pack i think WTs have had.I am very confident in tis side.

Wests Tigers threaten to break into the 8 but fall just short again.
Sentimental favorites the Warriors likewise.
The flabby gummy Sharks drop out of the 8 where they've had no right to be for a couple of seasons anyway. Eels too.
Titans continue their rise.

16 years ago the forwards were tough and i was a fan.The game has changed,,the forwards are averaging 110kg today and run nearly as fast as the average back in those days.We have many backs today that are over 6'2in and over 98kg. there is no comparison.

Harder? Have you seen them take a hard run? Tackled hard and drive? These forwards are not harder. They are almost mechanical in there approach due to their training. Becoming sift honestly.

Averaging 110kg? Pretty sure that isn't correct.
And because forwards can run faster these days that is supposed to equate to them being better players? Disagree there.

Sean i know what your getting at ,but it's a different game.Today it's the gang tackle,stop the offload and slow down the play the ball.I don't like it , but the game is not the same.Big bodies are needed to do this,thats why Storm and Easts have so much success.Comparing sides of even 10yrs ago is fruitless . It,s a big body game today with so many of the big fast island boys in the game.

Look at the profiles of players on WTs player profiles and stats,you will be surprised.And these guys are ripped,
