I agree. I still feel he could be our Damien Cook if given the chance to develop. He needs to gain confidence after his run of injuries and it feels like Madge is trying to ease him in. I'd be very disappointed to see him go.

@Kev He is our best option. Good defender and will get better, having limited opportunity in the NRL and has not played that many games. In my opinion he is also a genuine centre and 5/8.

I am prepared to give him more than one and a half games.

Really happy that Nofo ripped in, Thommo excelling at fullback and Liddle looking comfortable against a top side.
Thommo is an honest winger but a very effective fullback. A few big calls on the horizon for Madge.

If the goose in the middle actually gave them a shot tonight this game would have gone down to the wire. I like what Iam seeing

Me too supercoach...glad to see you have moved the squad up from bottom 4..this is a tough period..if they keep playing like this w should have a good back end of the year..

Madge doesn’t seem sold on Thompson based on his press conference... I don’t know why but when asked questions about him he would digress from complimenting him although I know he did say he was a competitor, he just didn’t seem all that keen on him for example like he was with Brooks. Also questioned, if he could be our full back moving forward and again digressed from the main point and started talking about Mbye and how undervalued he his because of his defence. Just made me feel that he is blaming Thompson on a few of the defensive mistakes tonight and isn’t a good talker at the back. I’m worried.

@Madge He made Mbye the captain so he is not going to criticise him, but at this stage Thomo has Mbyes measure at No1. I still feel that Mbye is carrying injury this is why he has been given a couple of weeks off.. time will tell but interesting times ahead .

I think you have read way too much into that, everything he said was true and wasn't overly critical of Thompson and actually complimented him quite highly?

We got stitched up by the refs tonight against a very good side. Not making excuses but it was very one sided. Souths were worse and let go in the play the ball and inside 10.

We are building a strong forward pack Aloai, Matterson, Twal, Mikalele, Liddle look impressive. They need to lock them up long term.

I think you have read way too much into that, everything he said was true and wasn't overly critical of Thompson and actually complimented him quite highly?

that's correct, I just saw the conference and Madge was straight up with his comments and again he always says "as a team"
