The flares baffle me. I've gone to games where I've seen kids (usually around 15-18 year olds), walk into games with multiple flares hanging out of their pockets. It is very overt and very noticeable, I find it truly amazing that stadium security do not notice a thing.

Look I appreciate the atmosphere that these guys create. It is obviously a success but I read that and you get an image of idiots in their early 20's with Scarface posters on their wall and a bum bag draped over their shoulder.

Grand Final dad has arrived and its fair to say I'm pumped. Breakfast at the Woolpack at Parramatta before catching a train to Central at 11:40 before drinking at one of the 7 pubs we're organised to drink at. The march is at 2:30 up Foveaux St and game on at 4pm. I have no idea how I'm getting home if we win.

i wanna support wanderers but gee some few crackheads make it difficult
When I used to live in London, game day was amazing stuff. They did pretty much what Allan is describing here for his day but starting time on the turps was a tad earlier. They also used to march enmasse to the ground and thats where a lot of the trouble occured. I saw professionals who were suit wearing 'squares' during the day, turn into frothing animals and commence beating the crap out of bystanders for no reason. This type of mob mentality was scary stuff.
Hopefully this doesnt happen today and if the wanderers lose they dont wreck the city. There is something about a soccer crowd that puts me on edge. They lose their individual intelligences and become one surging machine that can be very easily led.

I wanna see how their wannabe gangsta, hooligan supporter base react to losing a big game. Will they riot? i'd be very nervous walking out of the stadium in a CC jersey if they win it

They do provide a great atmosphere at the stadium but I question how much of the game they actually watch? With all their singing and bopping and jumping and dancing...when do they get a chance to see whats going on on the field?....are any of them actual soccer fans?

They don't even shut up for the anthem, only interested in themselves. Flares were being thrown not even a minute into the game

apparently if you sit in the RBB.. you shouldnt be watching the game.. you should only be shouting and yelling.. you're not suppossed to watch the game :laughing:

Didnt think much of the fans turning their backs on the victors recieving their medals….show some respect, and dont give me some garbage european tradition.

You know what, the RBB raised the stakes as far as soccer fans are concerned in this country. Rival clubs will learn to canary, stadiums will pulse with energy, and the game is safe. Much more than I can say for rugby league. Wests Tigers are one of the Western Sydney ambassadors, yet got less than 10K at a home game. Wanderers have to cap membership at 15K to allow spare seats for opposing teams and walk ups.
Any clown having a dig today… My 14 month old has both Tigers gear and Wanderers... lets see which engages him more.... what a load of jokers.... Football (soccer as in playing the gamel was only introduced to me as an adult, I was scouted internationally to 3 different countries, Japan, Korea, and USA in another sport, have a brother in law at one stage contracted to the Tigers, a weighed and measured player on EA sports as an international player... I have less stakes in the game that almost any other, yet can see the appeal to him.
