For the record I'm not a fan of the flares.
A bloke let one off at the start of the second half near me last week and I couldn't see the field for about a minute and it tasted like crap. There are many fans of them though so they'll never get rid of them. A lot of these guys are new fans to the team and to the game as well. Numerous league fans I went to school with who hated football now have Facebook display pictures with the RBB and some flare smoke coming from it and regularly comment on how cool they are.
The RBB actually doesn't defend the use of them and advise everyone that anyone who uses one will be dealt with by the authorities.

Relax Al, I was just ribbing you. And I've seen flares let off by FC and Victard supporters too. Not one teams supporter base can claim they are saints, they've all done it.

Look I appreciate the atmosphere that these guys create. It is obviously a success but I read that and you get an image of idiots in their early 20's with Scarface posters on their wall and a bum bag draped over their shoulder.
Best of luck. It remains an amusement to this forumer though

All good CB. I was just stating my stance on them. I know mine is different to others but I don't like us all being painted with the same brush, by all I also mean football fans as we know there can be violence at cricket and league games too.

This is true, I don't associate the Wanderers as being a wholly unruly group. Just seems the media are latching onto the antisocial behaviour perpetrated by a few of them. It is more overt than has been seen before due to the popularity. It is tame compared to the bad old days of Bonnyrigg V Sydney United.
