Wests Campbelltown

The best thing for Wests Tigers including the CEO, coach and players is to give the current controlling interest which is HBG one final chance to get things right based on the intervention and directive of OVK.
As I keep saying and I’m sure I’m sounding like a broken record, PVL will intervene with serious ramifications which I believe will be a likely loss of licence if he believes they continue to make bad decisions that leads to disharmony.
PVL does not wanted thousands of fans turning their backs on the club or the game, but he is also not going to be forced into anything when he already has a plan in place.
They don't really deserve the chance in my opinion. They've blown the place up enough times.

What you've suggested is the most likely outcome. But there's still nothing stopping them from imploding once again; so this only works if there's something in writing with the NRL around the standards that HBG must adhere to.

Appreciate your response though, others haven't responded yet.

I think people such as Balmain Boy who have a close interest in the Balmain junior rep teams should be very careful in what they wish for.
If Wests Campbelltown you control there would not be interested in funding the Balmain junior reps, that’s for sure and certain.
Whomever is the owner of Wests Tigers will find our junior reps. It's as simple as that, and nobody (but you) has suggested otherwise.
It would be suicide.

If Vlandys said to Wests Campbelltown that we'll hand over the license to you from Wests Ashfields, on the proviso you maintain funding the balmain juniors would they really say no? Not a chance in hell.

And I actually follow both juniors clubs equally. I've made plenty of trips out to the Southwest to watch our young stars play. Have you?

You also only need to look at the half passed job Wests Ashfield did in funding balmain, last year for the first time ever they came last in both grades. They were running on fumes the whole season, cloudnt afford to hire staff, coaches etc. It was a shambles and an insult to balmain, Wests and Wests magpies

It won't take long. One or 2 seasons max.

Imagine being so toxic the NRL takes control of your club. How embarrassing.

Correct. Any new owner would have a ready made club to walk into. Junior funding would be non-issue.

I can only answer for myself, but there is no conflict whatsoever as far as I’m aware.
A long time ago Wests Campbelltown took on the Wests Magpies leagues club name and were asked to start contributing towards Wests Tigers. They did not want to contribute towards Wests Tigers and advised they will only fund the MacArthur based Wests Magpies junior rep teams, so Wests Ashfield decided to let them do that if that’s the way they wanted to be.
If you have read recent comments from current Wests Maglies representatives they are pushing for as many Wests Tigers NRL games to be played out of Campbelltown as possible.
So they are backing more games and focus on the Campbelltown / MacArthur region, they are finding the Balmain Tigers junior rep teams, they are backing Benji as our coach, they are backing Shaun Mielenkamp as our CEO, but we still have some people trying to say they are not making any good decisions and not doing anything worthwhile for Wests Tigers.
You do realise Wests Campbelltown contributed to the jv for 14 years, right? And had a seat on the board?
Yes they walked away as they'd had enthusiasm and wanted to refocus but they usually sided with Balmain in voting, much to the anger of Wests Ashfield. There certainly was a lot of bad blood between the two back then, these days maybe they're far enough removed not to care?
Surely you knew the history of your own club, or are you just a premature teenager who's out of their depth?

That was when Balmain was actually contributing financially - why would they take on a basket case like Balmain who would be contributing nothing. As i said earlier why would they want to link up with either Balmain or Wests - both have been total failures for the last 13 years.

Everything you write in terms of what is known as fact to have happened, is consistently wrong.

25 years of chances mate.

When the team were finally on the improve.

Finally made a profit

Positive coverage in the Media

HBG sacked 4 directors and the chairman.

Evidence suggests the current HBG are not interested in the Tigers.

Its quite telling that the usual suspects aren't here when we are talking about divisions within the Magpies.. but they are off in other threads writing essays defending HBG to the death and accusing the rest of us of trying to get rid of them. I guess it doesn't help the pro HBG narrative when the other half of Wests want nothing to do with them... No wonder they don't like answering questions, theyd have to face some home truths.

Maybe they just agree with Helen Mirren:

“Before you argue with someone, ask yourself, is that person even mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective. Because if not, there's absolutely no point.”

The whole point of this thread is to get perspective from magpie fans about their own club.

This is a chance to educate us Wests Tigers fans the rich history of your club..

I am trying to be open minded.

Why is it such a sensitive topic?
Why are you lot avoiding it?
Are there Skeleton's in the closet you're trying to hide?
Do you think we are so naive that Balmain wasn't a complete basket case too? We can have a discussion and acknowledge the issues from both sides - because the bulk of us have no alignment to Balmain or magpies.

I literally said on a previous page I think Wests McArthur should come back into the mix.

I understand the loyalty to the magpies, I don't understand the defensiveness and inability to have a two way conversation (asking and answering questions)...

You lot don't do yourselves any favours.
