Wests Magpies Bundy Cup 2013

Idea is being put forward by WSDRLFC. The board is trying to determine what is required to make it happen (costs, support etc). They will most likely request Ashfield to help get up and running…

So why doesn't the club at Campbelltown put any money into it ..games played at the ground brings people to the club! Sounds like that place wants the spoils and not put any thing in…

Apart from some money going to the WJL and a some to WT they don't seem to embrace rugby league as much as they should or could.

There is also a frosty relationship between ashfield and campbelltown on the past but things are more harmonious now.

If they line things up with game days (nsw cup and bundy cup) the club could benefit well

Weren't the league talking about Sunday night matches ?

Would be a big day out on a Sunday at Campbelltown : Bundy Cup, State Cup, NYC, NRL then off to the club to celebrate !

Hmmm… I could handle that 4 times a year.

Their not interested in promoting Wests Tigers at all.
I've gone their several times in the past to watch our away games and have a meal with my familly. Some times they won't even show the games, if your lucky they might put it on the big screen for you otherwise you'll have to watch it on the smaller TVs.
No atmosphere at all.
They will take the after game business but that's it.
The last time I went, I was refused entry because….....wait for it....... My sons were wearing WT jerseys.
Their excuse, footy jumpers incite fights.

Having said that, I to them where they can stick my membership card and I've never been back since.

west cambelltown do in fact support financially the juniors and wt as well as west junior rep teams which i might add is a lot more than balmain at the moment.

This thread isn't about Balmain so don't turn it into something it isn't.

There is a very large picture of the Weststigers Premiership team in the lobby of the club for all to see. They do give financial assistance to the Wests Juniors and they do show the away games at the club.

All clubs have dress codes. I was once refused entry to the Liverpool Catholic club because I had shoes but no socks. I went out to my car and put a pair on. No problem. Personally I am sick and tired of people coming into clubs dressed like they are just about to mow the lawn and getting upset when they are refused entry. Dress codes are displayed in the foyer at all clubs and a phone call would have cleared your options before arrival.

I've worn my Wests jersey there a dozen times and never had a problem.

I also remember watching the Tigers game against the Titans this yr where Robbie kicked the FG in extra time and the whole club erupted. And that was an away game also

I got no idea what he's talking about

Wests Campbelltown support WJL and contribute to their 10% ownership of WT.

They have no interest in supporting any team or group outside that. Including a WSM bundy cup side, the magpies nsw cup side (despite playing out the front door)

You will also notice zero western suburbs magpies memorabilia and you may see a framed WT jersey at the sports bar thats about it…. Could be the 4 NRL games that has turned them off any strong embracing of WT apart from relevant financial contributions.

Oppurtunites could def be a lot better. WSM bundy cup proposal has not progressed any further yet beyond the board announcement.

I have no experience of the Wests Campbelltown club. But from what people are saying it is a little disappointing.

The club at Ashfield gets right behind the team. On the few occassions I have been there to watch a game I couldn't make it too they have had jerseys everywhere. They have the game on almost every screen. The lights get turned down and the volume turned up so that an atmpshere is generated.

In seasons past they would even have someone working the crowd up, handed out free doubles on the game to win $250, prizes for the kids and half team challenges. All made for a great place to watch the game if you couldn't make it.

If what others have said is true it's a shame. Would be great to have a club at Campbelltown getting right behind the team and in a way would work towards promoting the game in the area and demanding more home games out there.

And it is a Leagues club so I can't understand no jerseys especially for the kids. That is a joke.

Wrong staff member on the wrong night can ruin your perception of a place, id say that may have happened here

I've heard it's a done deal…you only need 100-150K to run a Bundy side. I'm hearing Leo Epifania as coach and definitely based out of Campbelltown. Guess this sounds the death knoll of BNRU's assocaition with WT although I also hear they're already in talks with another NSW Cup entity as a backup...

Wests Campbelltown also sponsor Group 6 JRL to go with WJL and reps

They pour alot of money on Jnr Footy which the 4 times a year Macarthurs team tigers benefit from!!!

WSM bundy cup team confirmed for 2013

Initial Financial Grant provided by Ashfield.

Search is on for new coach and players for 2013 season.

Home ground(s) yet to be determined. Team may play as curtain raiser with WT NSW cup games at stand alone Campbelltown days.

Well that is a positive step

Indeed. Hopefully Wests can recruit some decent talent and be a force in the Bundy Cup next season.
