yeap losing your team is painful I was a **Brisbane Wests** supporter and to see them die after winning 4 premierships in 16 years was dissappointing and still remember us getting thrown out in 83 Wests magpies was as devastating

Did they wear the similar red n green souths jumper???

Remember as a kid it always confused me, was a big Wests Magpies fan here in sydney, but Brisbane Souths wore the white maggie strip with black V….Easts were the Tigers :crazy - couldnt grasp it as a kid, thought it all very odd

red and black the panthers lots of ex players went to Sydney Fatty, Tony Currie , Greg Oliphant Adrian Lam John Ribot to name but a few Red and Green were \are Wynnum Manly the were the glamours of the 80's Lewis , Miles Dowling Colin Scott French brothers Des Morris Talking of Fatty that try he scored when he went 80 metres saw it No one mentions Lewis would of nailed him from scrum base if he hadn't got hurt

What a classic. There is no Balmain or Western Suburbs in the NRL today. If you have a problem with that - rack off and go follow another code or comp. Leave the rest of us to follow our beloved Wests Tigers.

FTR - I was born in a room above a shop in Darling St Rozelle - 50m from the Balmain Leagies. I grew up in Rozelle. Up until 1999 I bled back and gold. Now I bleed black white and gold. My 2, 4, 6 and 8 yr olds know nothing of Balmain or Wests. I take them to scream for the Westst Tigers. They don't care if we play at SFS, Cambo or Leichardt - they scream for the wests tigers. in 10 yrs time, anyone who mentions the name Balmain or Wetsern Suburbs will be seen as dinosours - if they aren't already. Anyone who tries to argue for either Balmain or Wests will be (as they already are) seen as the losers they are.

Get a life loser! ANd anyone giving any sort of credence to anything this loser has said - you can rack off too. Support the Wests TIgers - or go follow net ball (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Not sure what Anzac Day has to do with anything here champ? I really fail to see the similarities in any sense -but I'll play along - you see, Australian Diggers and those that cheer for them do not post hate filled posts on forums declaring the right of another country to glorify their war heroes. They don't try to discredit or denigrate the 'other ' side - unlike old mate here. I don't see NZ soldiers or their families and frineds trying to denigrate the Australian soldiers with whom they fought. And taking it even further, by celebrating the Anzac tradition - your argument seems to suggest that by cheering our ANZACS we are somehow making our Australian heratage irrelvant?

And please highlight where I said heritage wasn't relavent champ? It was the brainchild declaring the Balmain heritage is dead and buried - NOT I. I was simply making that point that if old mate wants to carry on with that type of 'us and them' crap, go to the magpies forum and have a blast. This is a Wests Tigers forum that has a section for the Magpies and Balmin sides.

going on about how we would have 20000 members if Balmain didn't dominate and rule the merger or at least give that perception. Thats because there are thousands like him that will never support weststigers as long as this is the perception.

how cambo should have at least 6 games as the people are desperate for more footy & can't get enough. even though he won't go to the current games out there as that would be supporting weststigers.

how weststigers will be to blame when afl takes over the west.

it was all quite funny & sad at the same time.

The fact that a merger going back 12 years still results in some original Wests or Balmain supporters not being happy is (whilst somewhat understandable) of no concern to me at all. There are plenty of forums for them to vent their deep seeded anger and frustration - but leave us Wests Tigers supporters to get on with supporting our team in the NRL. And you wouldn;t believe it (read the sarcasm) some of us actually have the gaul to cheer for the Wests and Balmain lower grades>>>>>>>>SHOCK HORROR! You do realize we still play at Leichhardt for historical, not emotion free, 'rational' reasons,
and we still have seperate junior rep squadsand NSW Cup teams for historical reasons (ie to keep Wests & Balmain alive) ... I mean if you have no concern whatsoever for the heritage of this club then let's kill em both off.

Would this be like knocking the monkey off our backs or would it create a RLFC without a soul ???

The fact that you imply we only play at Leichhardt for irrational emotional reasons shows your absolute lack of objectivity, and simply goes to illustrate that anything further you say in this debate should be taken with a grain of salt.

The reason we play at Leichhardt old mate is because it is one of our home grounds - if you want to bring a balmin/Wests argument into that - I feel sorry for you. The reason we play at Leichhardt (NB spelling of Leichhardt) is no more for histrical reasons that the reason we play at Cambo, or Manly play at Brookvale, or Penrith play at Penrith, or Cronulla play at Cronulla - IT'S (one of) OUR HOME GROUNDS!!!!!!!! We have a few (too many ) home grounds, just like the Dragqueens merger. It's life, build a bridge and get over with it. For you to make such statement about Leichhardt (implying the only reason we play there is for emotional and irrational reasons) and omitt Campbelltown in any similar assessment shows your objectivity and lack of ability to be reasonable in this discussion. Are you and Hater the same person?

As for your ANZAC argument (analogy) - it simply doesn't stack up. By your way of thinking, cheering the ANZAC's automatically belies our roots (either Wests or Balmain). Ridiculous notion that would only ever be argued by the cave dwellers that continue to pursue the us v them (read Balmain/Wetst v Wests/Balmain) agenda. Take the agenda elsewhere - WE NOW SUPPORT THE WESTS TIGERS IN THE NRL.

I can't recall seeing you or Hater on the hill last night - all my family and I saw were Wests TIgers supporters - on a dreary rainy Saturday night against a non-Sydney team - in their thouands?
