Apologies if this has already been discussed, but who was the guy in the doco who sat in the coaches box and was caught on camera multiple times on his mobile?
Is he still employed here?

Yes he is, Ron Griffiths

What i like about Nathan Cayless was that he has always been a leader. NRL captain at 22 and while they didnt win a comp they were a top 4 or 8 team most if his time their as captain. He played more NRL games as captain then any other player and as NZ captain he won he world cup against Australia. He also spent a lo of that time under Brian Smith which means if he was captain then he was smart bu also able to balance that intesity like he will need to do with Madge in coaching. Add a good couple of years under Robbo at the Roosters. I think its a great signing

Very happy we didn’t appoint Flanagan. He probably is better than Gardiner and Cayless in experience wise, plus his credentials show that. Looking forward to seeing what next season holds for both lads.

Should add some stability as I can't see eithet of these blokes trying to knife Madge for a crack at the top job.

Good luck to Ben and Nathan. I hope they can breathe some fresh air into this side.

You are very happy we didn’t appoint him because he is better than these two?

I'm very happy we didn't appoint him because he is a drug cheat.

Maybe so but he is what we needed.

I don't believe in risking the health of our players.

Very happy this is sorted so we can move forward..
Hear great things about these guys so fingers crossed it works out for all.
I think the Rooster let him go as they had Morris joining the team.
Anyway Congrats to them both

Pathetic that he’s still employed.

He might also have a few ideas on how we can actually beat Parramatta for a change. :relaxed: Anyway, welcome aboard. I do like what I have read about Gardiner and his efforts this year with the State Cup team were wonderful. It sounds like he developed a strong bond with the players. We need this.

Excellent for Ben Gardiner he will be an asset , for some reason the structure of this club had him answering to Magpies only last year and not aligned with NRL in any way , he will take over Madge’s posi in 2024 just a bold prediction 👍

Cayless sounds like a like-for-like replacement for the last sycophant to sit in the box with his eyes painted on his eyelids. At least his wife's business seems to be doing well although I would prefer Mrs Cayless and her partners Mrs Jason Taylor and Mrs Nathan Hindmarsh on the payroll over any of their husbands.

May have avoided any white anting by overlooking Flanagan

Does anyone know why cayless wasn't retained at the roosters? Happy enough with the appointments but unsure about why cayless isn't still at the roosters if he's valuable.

Had to make way for Brett Morris.
Doubt its anything personal.

It’s the right outcome . An up and coming coach who has had success at a lower level , and a coach who is around the international setup , and has interviewed for head coaching roles , which means he’s at least being considered .
And most importantly , both are guys who the head coach trusts moving forward . I see positives all round to be honest .
