Never really understood why a joint venture between a club based in Ashfield and a club based in Five Dock would want to go that far away. Concord should remain the reference while our club is funded and supported in the inner west

Have you seen the facilities at Concord Oval….third word standard at best....Maybe it's time to re-arrange the Gym again..

**Move to the Olympic Park precinct ... Infrastructure already in place with state of the Aquatic centre Gymnasium and training field facilities...**

Absolutely yes! Olympic standard facilities right in the heart of our territory - we're nuts not making use of it.

I wonder why the dogs moved back to Belmore if the facilities are world class?

They are no decent kebab shops in Homebush !

Bulldogs tried some years ago and that ended up being very costly, clashed with other tenants and users of facilities and ended up heading back to Belmore.

That's true about the bulldogs actually. Whilst Olympic park has the facilities it's such a multi purpose venue that you'd have to constantly share the facilities with other teams/codes.

Somewhere stable and where we have complete control. As a fan it doesn't really matter where the training base is. Saying it's 5 mins from home is just silly. How often does anyone actually go to watch the team train? For 99% of us the answer is never, so location means nothing.

Of note is that most players do actually live in the inner west area and so hiking out to Campbelltown every day wouldn't be seen as a desirable outcome. Sure in the end players will go wherever they need to get to training, some commute from the north/south coasts but a convenient base will always be an attractive incentive when recruiting players.

No one likes a long commute.

Nothing wrong with liking the idea of your team training around the corner from your house.

This is a myth. Only about a month ago i walked into a TAB, and saw an Islander guy at the counter in a LA Clippers singlet. I thought ''god, i know that guy'', it was Sam Kasiano. I also walked past Greg Eastwood, at coincidentally enough, Carnes Hill shopping centre. Also Kris Keating lived (maybe he still does) in Cecil Hills, which is just down the street as well. Hell, Frank Pritchard use to live in Hoxton Park, and Tony Williams was still living at his parents house on Elizabeth dr when he played for Manly. To say that players wouldn't live in the South West is a fallacy, cos many of them do.

So basically you're' saying the Bulldogs should have a training base at Carnes Hill?! You didn't mention a single WT player then… lol

If you look at our club, the vast majority of players live in the inner west. Yes there's a couple from cambo/camden, but they seem more of an exception than the rule.

The point was, players do live in the South West, regardless of who they play for. Pretty safe to say it would be a dumb business decision if you were declining the offer based on the fact the players might have to drive a bit too far to get there. I'm sure everyone would love to work 10 mins from home, not everyone can though.
