Wests Tigers best ever signing ???

1 Marshall
2 Hodgson
2 Prince
4 Ellis
5 Taupau

I want to put Taupau higher up the list but I can't just yet. Marshall, Hodgson and Prince won us a comp. Ellis was a special player for a while but I can see Taupau overtaking him.

I would say Ellis, but as an old wests supporter Hodgo was gold,Prince got us over the line in 2005,Marty is lookin' good too.
Hill is much maligned on here but IMHO he was very good for us,we were a far better team when he played.Sides would love to get us without Hill in the team, think of him what you like about the man,but as a footballer he was good.

Also how is John Hopoate's name on the list? He's one of the worst things ever to happen to the game, never mind the Tigers.

I agree with you , was just jotting people that we have signed .

As i have said 3/4 of them wouldn't even make the cut .

The ones mentioned probably win it but one who could have been except for injury was Jarrad McCracken - we were 2nd in our first season until he got injured and then it all fell apart, our first captain

I'd love to say Ellis but quality number 7s are so hard to come by. Scott prince was instrumental in us Winning a comp, impossible to go past him

Ellis for sure, but Taupau is quickly proving to be one of our better buys for sure.

May be an unpopular choice and much like many others it soured towards the end but best ever signing is sheens without him there is no 2005 premiership

at the start of Ellis playing for the tigers i said on here (or earlier incarnation at the time) that he would become the tigers best ever signing.

he won 2 club champion awards, but in hindsight, i actually think the best signing was Hodgson. to me he exemplified the value of having a great kicker in the side turning 4 into 6 at a high percentage, was highest (ever at the time?) point scorer in 05, and an awesome player in his own right.

id have ellis second, and prince third because even at the time i think he was the real star in the halves who complemented marshall by giving him the freedom he needed to do his thing.

You know, speaking of Ellis, every single time I hear someone say "toe poke" in my mind I say "tor pork"!!!!

Hodgson was one of ours in the first place.
Marshall was always ours.
That leaves Ellis & Prince.
Prince helped deliver a premiership.
Winner Prince!
IMO

Hodgson played for Western Suburbs (from juniors) but never the Wests Tigers until **signing from Parramatta….**

I've only been supporting WT since 2009 so I might be a little Biest by I would say Ellis with Tapau closing in.

As much as I hate the way the spanner danced out of the club, Prince was probably the best signing, followed by Marshall and Hodgson. Between those three and the rest is daylight.
