Bennett? What are you talking about? He turned an average Dragons squad into premiers. He even had a decent record at the Knights - 53%.

You are kidding.
Bennett had an 'average' St George team?
Boyd, soward, nightingale, jeremy smith, beau scott, cooper, young, fien, weyman, hornby, prior, morris, creagh et al
You have absolutely no idea.
Not to mention bringing back gasnier.
Stats, stats and bloody stats - ok
But don't try and embellish your post with untruths
What an angry little man, just because someone has a different opinion.
I remain of the view that Bennett made the careers of the players you listed. They were not rated highly prior to Bennett's intervention in their careers.

@ said:I think that Ivan Cleary is the best coach we can get at this point.
I mean we just sacked our coach 3 rounds into the season. Even though i think sacking Taylor was the right move, if Cleary is still willing to take the job after that, I think we should count ourselves incredibly lucky.

Cleary will revel in the challenge and opportunity.

@ said:Someone correct me if i am wrong, but lets say we announce Cleary Monday, how do we expect him to coach against the Cows? Would he not have to come in and build a rapport with the players before barking orders at them?

You're right, so he would probably rely on Andrew Webster running the team initially until he has time to assess the current playing roster re strengths and weaknesses (plenty of these), defensive structures (if any in our case) etc etc.
