WESTS TIGERS - COACH IVAN CLEARY..OFFICIAL

If i was Pascoe, as soon as we secure Cleary, i'd be sitting every player whose off contract, bar Tedesco and telling them "we have the coach and the cash to attract quality. Anyone who wants to stay, stay. Anyone who wants to leave, there's the door". The club needs to play hard ball.

Toovs won't drop his gig for an unstable job at the Tigers.
Forget him.

Really? Not dump an ESL side for an NRL one? I wouldn't even be surprised if he had a clause that allowed him to return to Australia if an NRL head coach gig came up..

Also he currently coaches Bradford Bulls, you are surely aware of their issues? And you reckon Tigers are less stable currently?

I was thinking he may have a ''get out if NRL opp comes up'' clause

We only seem to attract and able afford 2nd and 3rd tier coaches.

Tooves is coaching 2nd tier Bradford now, they started the season on -12 comp points.
They make us look like the Broncos 😕

I wouldn't be saying anyone who wants to stay, stay .
So you'd be happy for Naquima and the other hacks to stay ?
I'd be getting out the Whiteboard !

No job stability at the Tigers. Why ditch that well paying job for a uncertain tenure here?

Bradford are a division below the ESL and are broke. There's probably not a job in professional RL with more of an uncertain future than his. And he certainly wouldn't be well paid.

in conjunction with the new coach, this has to be done.
other then the "4" everyones so concerned about….. there are a few other players on the market that would and could be great for the club.... !

He can bide his time and go to a real club in the NRL when it arises.
We only seem to attract and able afford 2nd and 3rd tier coaches.

The joint can't be that bad, the article says 4 agents contacted the club expressing interest for the clients.

Didn't know Hasler comes off contract at end of this season. He would be my pick with Webster staying as interim for this season.

They have gone into receivership, what, 4 times the Bradford Bulls?

Anyone got Ros Kelly's phone number, she might still have her whiteboard?

We lack money. Should be like those 2nd rate formula one teams. Give the position to the person that is willing to pay the club the most to occupy it.

Tooves said tonight that he's definetly interested in WT.
As for players we can't afford to pay big money for the two Tiny Two.
Neither has done enough to throw that sort of money at them.
I know this won't be popular, but I'd let Moses chase the money and keep Brooks.(on a lower contract) with incentives based on form
I've changed my mind half a dozen times, but Brooks at his best is better than Moses at his.
He s got the speed to split teams , but he needs a coach that can get him to stay in the game for 80 minutes. He also needs a lot of work on defence , but we can cover a bit for one player , but trying to nursemaid two was never going to work.
With a solid ( not necessarily a so called star beside him , I think that he could be exactly what we will need to be able to set up some gaps in the middle for Teddy to hit some holes instead of the well telegraphed sweep plays that we seem to do over and over.

I may be wrong completely but I'd go with him. I'd go no higher than 700'ooo for Woodsie tops and Tedesco at any price. The only real star of the whole team.
And Id use Moses's dollars , and what we save on Brooks on forwards.

Yeah that's my thinking at the moment too - try to keep Brooks on a lower contract, turf Moses and improve both forwards and outside backs with the extra coin. We can't just splash out on forwards, we need to patch up some glaring deficiencies in our outside backs too.

If Des Hasler is in the mix better check with Doggies fans after the match with Manky I think they want him gone now 😜
