Wests Tigers Coaches

So be it. He is an apprentice. We need a man.
Get Tooves!!!
Quick question for you stryker, now that Noddy is interim while we are waiting a new coach, does he have to use the top 17 players bar injury or can he play anyone that is available to play including juniors and train and trial ?
only asking because we need wins and if we have been playing some like KM,Hastings etc injured, wouldnt we be better off seeing how the others would go?cheers..

“It all comes down to next week. Ciraldo has decided the winner of the tigers vs bulldogs game will get his signature. He will attend the game with his agent and go into the winning dressing room and sign the contract in front of the players. Tiger players have said they will treat this game like a grand final. Lee has said this is the biggest game in the tigers history.”

I just made all that up lol lol
Watch it end up in the telegraph back page

The other thing that grinds my gears is all this talk of clubs not being what these coaches are looking for. If the squads no good, do your job and coach them to make them better. I keep hearing about these rookie coaches waiting for the right job, the premiership winning team aren't going to sack their coach just to give these guys a job.
In saying that the only job that will be a poisoned chalice will be Melbourne when Bellamy has finally had enough and run into the sunset. Noone will ever fill those shoes.

Sure but we have a history of stuffing it and just recently we haven't done this. We've been smart and signed Api and Papalli.

Paying overs gave us Mbye, Josh Reynolds and Packer.
Nope.

I have no idea what we were thinking with Mbye.
Packer was performing at 600k level at St George *arguably*, may have paid a fraction overs, maybe not.
Reynolds was SOO 5/8 and when your talking SOO level at least worth the 500k mark.
^ Both these players I am left wondering What on earth happened. Reynolds seemed to be trying but was just too slow.
Packer just decided to sit on a fat paycheck. If he wanted first grade he just had to put in.

Look it's all in the past but the lesson is:
don't sign unders for overs! Negotiate for contracts and don't sign duds even if the other club is paying freight.
James Maloney was going for 600k from memory and that's what Penrith got!

Because Cayless is working out so well for us?

Tooves did great at Manly. Haslier was even helping him, at Manly!
I have about zero confidence that Toovey would go as well, nay even half as well here. Yes, I like what he did with Lyon, DCE, numerous forwards. His heart will never be with our club and never 100% in it.

Unless Toovey is banging down our door and has Manly development list with him. Won't work.

Wasnt there also the question of medical clearances before the contracts were signed. I recall somewhere that at least Packer and maybe one of the others (Matulino?) refused to get a medical clearance and we still singed them. If true the WT reps who recommended and signed the contract should be out.

Most definitely.
I’d use the rest of 2022 as a trial year.
With so many forwards leaving us, we need to know if the guys in Reggie’s can cut it and how hard we need to hit the market for replacements. I don’t think the props we have next year can bring green horns through. Let’s find out.
Id also seriously look at the guys contracted elsewhere for 2023 and start negotiating early releases, contingent on payment, to get the war chest cranking.
How many understudies does API need? Try them all out and keep the best 2.
We need to get Doueihi on the park soonish to begin the experiment re:halves combos…there are a lot to go through. Maybe we’ll be shocked to discover our best halves combination is Madden and Peachey lol…
We need to experiment with our centre combos. Try them all out, including Doueihi and Brooks. It seems certain our 2023 centre pairing has not played this year yet.
If we can hit November knowing exactly who we need based on game day analysis, the remainder of the year will be beneficial.
For all we know, guys like Doueihi, Blore and Talau may not comeback well. Contingencies may be required for their management.
Lastly, let’s test Noddy out. Discover his strengths and weaknesses with an eye to either further training as a future head coach or acknowledgement that it’s beyond him.

Right so that’s one against….
