Wests Tigers confirm Gibbs and Fifita departure

andrew fifita leads the comp in tackle breaks i beleive theyll regret his departure he just gets better and better every time he plays dissapointing you have to think they have allready got adam blairs signeture but its on the quiet, i hope thats the case other wise why would they get rid of to good forwards. :wtf
 
Very upset at losing Fifita. He's going for big bucks but geez he's going to find it tough at the Sharks. I think they have spent overs on him at this stage.
I think the change might do Gibbs good.
Good luck to them both. Cant wait to see Gibbs especially up against the Tigers next year. He wont hold back.

Lets hope the Tigers make the finals this year cause i cant see either player featuring in the finals for some years after this one.

I don't know, Cronulla have a very good Toyota Cup side, Tim Smith might pull his head in, Nathan Gardner. They aren't as far away as most people think.

I'd be spewing if we've lost 2 forwards of this calibre to gain 1\. Doesn't make any sense to do so.
 
Fifita could be anything - potentially hs ia a huge loss. Time will tell.
I'd like to keep Gibbs. He is a great defender and I think in the 2nd row he would really give us a great defensive line. I think his potential is a little less than Fifita but still a loss.

I really hope Blair or whoever is worth the loss of both of these players.
 
Sorry to see the guys go, but this is good for the club. No-one has mentioned Spence who I think will be an excellent first grade player also.

I heard the other day on radio that Canberra haven't offered Josh Miller a contract. He bleeds green but he would be a great buy for some more mongrel. What do you think?

It is concerning that he gets concussed so often though. I believe he is only 28.

Look the way I see it, its out now, no more media conjecture, they can just focus on playing footy. - I'm sad to see Gibbs and Fafita go, however at least we can focus on the weeks ahead without any distractions.

Still see us beating the Storm by 10 at Leichhardt, and with all this rubbish out in the open and done, possibly winning by more.
 
If we do get Blair then I hope he plays front-row again. We don't really need him in the 2nd row when we have ellis on one side and dwyer on the other who can both run hard into gaps out wide and score tries.

Another reason is if Blair doesn't play frontrow for us then Galloway will be the only one in our squad who is an experienced firstgrade frontrower, and he gets injured a lot. It's good that Woods is getting a bit of experience this year though

I can't remember the last time we signed a player like Blair. A current international.
 
Fifita got offered a big contract that we can't logically match. The Tigers granted him a release to take it because they felt like they'd be jerks to do otherwise.
 
Lots of people talk about Fifita's tackle busts and how it is the most in the comp. By rights it should correlate to metres gained but in his case it doesn't because he runs across the field a lot. I say good luck to Andrew but he is getting paid way too much if the 350K is accurate.

Really sorry to see Gibbsy go. He always seemed to lift for the big games (2005 GF, 2010 Qualifying and Major Semi-final). A great clubman who is one of the most effective one-on-one tacklers in the competition. Very under rated in my book

Errr.. Gareth Ellis was playing for England. I could play for England. I didn't get excited when I found out we signed him. Yes Ellis turned out to be the best buy Wests have ever managed. Ellis had to step up. Thank god he did.

Do they count when you beat four players running sideways and only make 5 meters.
