Shoulda kept Fifita instead of Blair.

I agree !! I'm shattered that the club let Fifita leave. He is good as Blair right now and 4 to 5 years younger.I wish young Andrew all the best for the future.

I've not seen one player in recent memory who signed for the sharks from other clubs who went on to bigger and better things.

Good luck to them both cause they gonna need plenty of it at the sharks, dont blame em for taking the cash they have won lotto.

We can do better and will without these two, yes in some instance its sad to see em go but we needed a bit of a shakeup and Im sure this will make all the boys focused for the rest of the season.

Very sad to see both guys going. Gibbs has given great service for the last 8 or so seasons and Fifita was a player I was looking forward to watching in Wests Tigers colours for a number of seasons.

I dont think we will see any more signings on top of Adam Blair but hope we get another decent signing or two. Anyone heard if we are looking at anyone aside from Blair?

the Blair announcement isn't what i'm waiting for coz thats a done deal.I'm waiting for 1 or 2 more signings on top of Blair

Knowing Sheens it will probably be Fitzhenry.

thats not even funny

I wont be laughing if it actually happens.

I can't belive the club could let fifita go this would have to the worst decsion this club has ever made
This kid will be up their with the best soon.
Gibbs should have gone after 2005 GF he has not scored a try since then & has done nothing & will do nothing at the sharks could not care
Are the tigers going to hold onto fullton?
The club said they needed to let some older players go Fifta must be getting old after signing his contract
3 weeks ago Not happy
I don't blame Fifita in any way.
Need more then Adam Blair

I won't be suprised if Ellis is shifted to the front row in the next year or two. It has been discussed by Sheens previously when Ellis moves into the backend of his career. I think this move would work well given Ellis plays very direct and offers good go forward, plus he plays the full 80 at the moment, so you could expect to get 60 minutes out of him in the front row IMO.

This would allow the likes of Dwyer and Blair to play in the backrow while Woods, Begovich and Groat can battle out the prop interchange spots, with BMM a likely option to give Dwyer or Blair a spell.

A starting forward pack could look like:

Galloway
Farah
Ellis
Blair
Dwyer
Heighno

With a bench of:

Woods
BMM
Groat/Begovich
Fulton

Just one possible option and it's a pretty strong forward pack IMO.

Surprised that Sheens has not moved Ellis earlier this year to prop . Makes sense

Fifita could be anything - potentially hs ia a huge loss. Time will tell.
I'd like to keep Gibbs. He is a great defender and I think in the 2nd row he would really give us a great defensive line. I think his potential is a little less than Fifita but still a loss.

I really hope Blair or whoever is worth the loss of both of these players.

Totally agree with all of that ….Bryce was on his way at being a chance of playing origin before his knee injury set him back . Except a massive back end of the season from him , and he will be a major reason why the Tigerswill make the semi finals . Fifita as stated is just getting better and better and I would have them both any day before Blair.
Have watched him closely all year and he has done nothing .
I just can't see his value , with all the great young forwards we have coming along.
I don't think he will be a good mix , with Benji having a falling out with him and all.
I just think he isn't worth all the grief it's caused

^^This. Very disappointed to be losing both of these guys. :frowning: Hope Blair is worth it …

OK there are suggestions by those in the know that this is all being done for good reasons - I certainly hope that is the case because, based on what is public, as a lifelong supporter of 40 odd yeares I am very disappointed with the way the club has handled this signing of Blair/releasing of players affair.

I'd like to see the Tigers say goodbye to Liam Fulton as well.
Massive clean out, Fifita was great but the rest - I consider dead weight.
Gone - Payten, Gibbs, Fifita, Moors, Mitch Brown [?] and McKinnon.
Probably a few more under performers and we got ourselves some excitement.

I find it funny that no one has mentioned, most players don't go to Cronulla to better their careers, cultivate their skills and improve. The place is a grave yard and decent players go there and decline…
For example; **Anthony Tupou**

**Blake Ferguson** said it best when he said; I'm leaving Cronulla, because I want to be with a team that can actually win a premiership.

I hope **Andrew Fifita** rejects his decision.
Went from playing semi final football to (_more than likely_) winning 6 games a season.

As for Bryce Gibbs, he can go drop ball & cause penalties for another team.
He really had no choice in this matter but he is replaceable.

It looks like some executive decisions are being made to built a premiership winning team.
I hope we see more signings than just ADAM BLAIR.

I said earlier I bet they can't get rid of him. I love him as a player who punches above his weight but I also think if you let Fifita go but keep Fulton your doing the club a disservice. Surely the club could lose Fulton and pay his salary to Fifita.

Also at another club where Fulton plays lock behind a monster pack he could be a gun.

Conveniently the official news was released on the same day as SOO II and has now been lost in the euphoria of a NSW victory. Well played Wayne Cousins

I didn't mind seeing Gibbs go. While he has played many good games for us, I can't see him getting much better than he is today. Fifita has enormous potential though, and I hate to see him go.

Blair had better be worth it…

The consolidation of players sets the club up very well to retain the best youngsters and to bring in a Marquee or two.

This is like chess where you have to plan an attack and not just your next move.

Good luck Andrew and Bryce

Regarding Fulton, the club may not have any choice. He's under contract for next year, and if no-one offers him a better deal he's totally entitled to say "I'm happy where I am".

Lots of people are talking about these moves as if the Tigers are operating in a vacuum. They can't just ring up Superleague or Cronulla or some other reserve grade outfit and say "we've got these blokes we want rid of, can you send a cab please?" Oddly enough other clubs are more keen on our good players than our less good ones. Bastards.

Has anyone actually been watching Liam play since he came back from injury??

He has been killing it!!!!

I'm extremely dissapointed in losing Gibbs and Fifita…....but Woods,Begovich and Groat will have to do.

They all look to be extremely good players.
