Just for shits and giggles, I thought I’d start a season try tally for what is likely to be our worst season ever as a club. In our 22 previous years, we had some despicable seasons, but have always been spared the dreaded spoon. This year looks likely that we’ll finally receive it. Keeping a try tally is an easy task this year as we rarely add many to the sheet. Should prove amusing reading as the season progresses. Below is the season so far….

Round 1 v Storm;
Maumalo 2 tries
Nofoaluma 1 try
Cumulative for totals = 3 tries @ 3 tries/game, 16 points total @ 16 points/game
Cumulative against totals = 5 tries @ 5 tries/game, 26 points total @ 26 points/game

Round 2 v Newcastle;
Maumalo 1 try
Cumulative for totals = 4 tries @ 2 tries/game, 20 points total @ 10 points/game
Cumulative against totals = 10 tries @ 5 tries/game, 52 points total @ 26 points/game

Round 3 v Warriors;
Tamou 1 try
Musgrove 1 try
Cumulative for totals = 6 tries @ 2 tries/game, 32 points total @ 10.7 points/game
Cumulative against totals = 12 tries @ 4 tries/game, 68 points total @ 22.7 points/game

Round 4 v Titans
0 tries
Cumulative for totals = 6 tries @ 1.5 tries/game, 38 points total @ 9.5 points/game
Cumulative against totals = 13 tries @ 3.25 tries/game, 76 points total @ 19 points/game

Round 5 v Sharks
Maumalo 1 try
Cumulative WT totals = 7 tries @ 1.4 tries/game, 42 points total @ 8.4 points/game
Cumulative against totals = 19 tries @ 3.8 tries/game, 106 points total @ 21.2 points/game

I would say that it is possible that whoever is the top try scorer in the NRL this season may possibly score more than the Wests Tigers do.

We are exactly half as many points scored as conceded.
Leilua cracked his cherry and joins Maumalo, Nofoaluma, Tamou and Musgrove as try scorers.
