WESTS Tigers cumulative try tally 2022

We haven’t won a 2nd half for 18 games

60% (9) games we have scored 2 or less tries out of our last 15 games. (57% 8 games this year).
MT that is a statistic that has to change. Its so glaringly obvious that we lack fitness and concentration to play 80min of footy.
Maybe the team needs to be punished not cuddled.
Take them for a 10km beach time run followed by some serious sand sprints.
Then when they think the session is finished do it again.
Make em earn that money that a lot of Australians only dream about making.
Geez some of these guys can buy a house in their first term of footy where the general public takes 30 years to do so.
Maybe these guys should be on win payments only.

Agree. They are both telling stats.

Round 16 v NZ Warriors
0 tries

Cumulative WT totals = 35 tries @ 2.3 tries/game, 198 points total @ 13.2 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 69 tries @ 4.6 tries/game, 386 points total @ 25.7 points/game
Points differential = -188

We had 2 weeks preparation for this game and turned in a poor performance once again. Warriors were playing at home after a couple of years on the road and although they were pumped up, they really had a terrible attack which kept us in the game until late. That said they still ran 3 past us. We debuted some young forwards and they were ok, we’ll see more of them in the coming weeks. The pack as a group though, were sub par and gave the backs bugger all chances to post points.
We are now 15th on 4 & 12 (3 wins, 1 bye, 12 losses) and with all the teams we are competing with for the spoon having a bye round up their sleeve, we are effectively in last place on for and against.
30 players used, 15 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 10
Noffa = 6
Garner = 4
Brooks = 2
Brown = 2
Tamou = 2
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1
Peachey = 1
Gildart = 1
Ofahengaue = 1
Tupou = 1
To'a = 1
Madden = 1
Kepaoa = 1

Our next game marks the beginning of a tough month of games against top 4 contenders. Only a win can keep us out of 16th place on the ladder.
To be continued next week against the inconsistent Eels….

Round 17 v Parramatta
Nofoaluma 2 tries
Brown 1 try
Laurie 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 39 tries @ 2.4 tries/game, 218 points total @ 13.6 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 74 tries @ 4.6 tries/game, 414 points total @ 25.9 points/game

Funny old game this one. We were in it until a timely sin binning gave them the advantage going into halftime. A much improved effort from the pigs where 3 of them ran over 100m and all of them committed to defence, bashing a pack generally considered one of the best was great to see. In the end 8 points separated the cellar dweller and a so called contender. Special shout out to our young guns who all played well. Justin Matamua debuted. Unbelievably, our fullback posted his first try of the year.
We are now 16th on 4 & 13 (3 wins, 1 bye, 13 losses) with a tough month in front of us.
31 players used, 15 still on the nudie run.

Our team is struggling big time and rarely do we have enough high performing players to win a game at the moment, with either our backs going ok or the pack doing well, but never both concurrently. This week is our biggest test for the year and we need all 17 firing to compete.
To be continued next week against the high flying Panthers….

Round 18 v Penrith
Tupou 1 try
Doueihi 1 try
Maumalo 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 42 tries @ 2.5 tries/game, 234 points total @ 13.8 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 77 tries @ 4.5 tries/game, 432 points total @ 25.4 points/game
Points differential = -198

In a week where it was confirmed that Benji Marshal will be our head coach in 2 years time, Penrith decided to leave all of their origin players out of the clash against us…and won. Frustrating performance that has kept us in last place. Doueihi broke his duck egg and gets to keep his kebab covered on muck up day. Big Joe continues to return big numbers and has surely sewn up the 2022 WT POTY award.
We remain 16th on 4 & 14 (3 wins, 1 bye, 14 losses) and in a tight tussle for the kitchenware.
31 players used, 14 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 11

Experimentation continues with young gun blooding and our halves being changed weekly. Nothing is working and it will only get tougher this Sunday arvo in Townsville.
To be continued next week against the second placed Cowboys….

Round 19 v Cowboys
Naden 2 tries
Brown 1 try
Kepaoa 1 try
To’a 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 47 tries @ 2.6 tries/game, 260 points total @ 14.4 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 81 tries @ 4.5 tries/game, 459 points total @ 25.5 points/game
Points differential = -199

The boys played well and came back from a sinbinning and points deficit to take the lead only to be cheated of the win by a corrupt NRL official with 1 second remaining on the clock. Nothing more to say other than it was a disgrace and we deserved the win. Naden lost his virginity with a double banger.
We remain 16th on 4 & 15 (3 wins, 1 bye, 15 losses) and in a continued tussle for the kitchenware with the Titans.
31 players used, 13 still on the nudie run.

Tally:

The boys deserved the win in Townsville and to be robbed like that could break our spirit. We need to be switched on to get the bickies in our next one.
To be continued next week against the revitalised Broncos.

Will the news this week about Luke Brooks and David Nofoaluma spur the team on or weaken it further? We’ll know soon enough…

Round 20 v Broncos
Naden 1 try
Madden 1 try
To’a 1 try
Musgrove 1 try
Doueihi 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 52 tries @ 2.7 tries/game, 292 points total @ 15.4 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 84 tries @ 4.4 tries/game, 477 points total @ 25.1 points/game

For the second week running, the squad has taken it to a top 4 side and run 5 tries past a genuine contender for the title. As far as the fan base is concerned, this is two great wins in a row even though the NRL does not officially acknowledge we beat the Cowboys last week. The team played so well that picking a MOM for us proved difficult. Very good win.
We have now moved up to 15th on 5 & 15 (4 wins, 1 bye, 15 losses) and are playing team 14 this week.
31 players used, 13 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 11
Noffa = 8
Garner = 4
Brown = 4
Naden = 3

The boys are on a roll but have unfortunately lost Jacko Hastings for the remainder of the year. On top of the news Brooks and Noffa are unavailable, the pressure is mounting on our junior stocks to keep us off the bottom. A win could see us up to 13th and avoid the dreaded spoon we seemed so likely to receive only a fortnight ago.
To be continued next week against the struggling Knights.

Just as predictable as the sun coming up after night time, people dying after illness and the #### from high school becoming a middle aged Karen, the Wests Tigers have reverted to form and played like a bunch of incompetent pussies. Today was one of our worst efforts this year. Very little to be positive about but there were some decent performances. AJ and Laurie were threatening with the ball. Joffa was his usual beast self. Our debutant Freebairn was good….but we miss Hastings incredibly and lost to a side who themselves played shitfull football.
We remain 15th on 5 & 16 (4 wins, 1 bye, 16 losses) and are next up against the team running 3rd.
32 players used, 14 still on the nudie run.

What a difference a week makes. Last week I was looking at us moving to 13th and 2 wins clear of the spoon. Now I’m looking ahead hoping Titans don’t win another game. The race for the spoon is back on and once again, we are firming based upon our run home v the Titans.
To be continued next week against the tough and skilful Sharks.

Can’t comment much on this game as quite simply, I couldn’t have been bothered watching it. I did check in at halftime and saw they were well on their way to a hiding so I saved myself the heartache and watched the new Sonic the Hedgehog flick with the kids. Entertaining movie! Jim Carey was great. I then watched the highlights of our game and saw nothing entertaining nor great. I made the correct decision.
We remain 15th on 5 & 17 (4 wins, 1 bye, 17 losses) and are next up against one of the inform teams currently, who just ran a train on the Cowboys today.
32 players used, 14 still on the nudie run.

We are still firming for the spoon and have deleted our for and against advantage over the Titans down to just 3 points + a win. They have Manly to deal with tomorrow so hopefully that blows out a bit. It looks unlikely we win again this year and as such, must fight to keep our losing margins as low as possible.
To be continued next week against our tormentor, the Roosters who are playing top footy…

This time last week we were 27 F&A points + a win ahead of last place. What a difference 7 days can make…our worst fears have been realised as Titans won a game. It is their hardest game from their last 4 as well.
We are now 16th by 17 F&A points going into a clash with the Roosters which has a 50 pointer written all over it.
Titans take on Dragons which should be a loss but won’t be the flogging our game is. They also have the benefit of knowing our outcome the day before they play.
We must keep up with the Roosters.

Round 23 v Roosters
Naden 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 57 tries @ 2.6 tries/game, 320 points total @ 14.5 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 105 tries @ 4.8 tries/game, 599 points total @ 27.2 points/game
Points differential = -279….581 in arrears of competition leader Penrith.

Well it finally happened. The club raised the white flag some time ago yet so far we haven’t received a brutal beating for doing so…until last night. 72-6 with our only points from an intercept. God aweful performance of inept and incompetent defence, letting in 12 tries against a side who were performing rudimentary backline moves. The missed tackles on our right edge were not first grade worthy.
God aweful display of pathetic, unenthusiastic attack. Roosters gave us brilliant field position 5 times by stuffing up the kickoff returns….5 times!!! We couldn’t convert or even threaten to score.
Not much to say really…embarrassing for everyone involved with this club. Can’t see us avoiding the spoon now that the F&A gap between us and Gold Coast has opened up to 83 points.
We remain 16th on 5 & 18 (4 wins, 1 bye, 18 losses).
32 players used, 14 still on the nudie run.

Tally:

We are now red hot favourites for last place in a moderately weak competition. Titans are our only hope to miss it, but as noted they have Dragons today, Newcastle next week and Warriors in rd25. We have Dragons next week then Raiders. Our only hope is for Titans to lose all 3 games by decent margins, whilst we lose by very close margins, or we beat Dragons or Raiders. Cannot see any of these scenarios happening.
To be continued next week against the Dragons, where our second last hope of missing the spoon by our own hand will play out….
p.s. should Titans win this afternoon, we are likely done. Let’s go St George.

Round 24 v St George
Freebairn 2 tries
Brown 1 try
Madden 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 61 tries @ 2.6 tries/game, 342 points total @ 14.9 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 109 tries @ 4.7 tries/game, 623 points total @ 27.1 points/game
Points differential = -281…..613 in arrears of competition leader Penrith.

Our last realistic chance to avoid the spoon this season came down to a game against the 10th placed Dragons. Despite leading all game, we invented a new way to lose with an inexplicable final 6 minutes of self destructive dogshit that saw a player touch a drop out restart within 10 meters, our captain fumble the ball from dummy half, a very easy try let in, a player sin binned and a penalty given which allowed the Dragons to escape with the win. Bravo to all involved. To add insult to injury, the Titans won and we now sit outright last.
Kautoga debuted and in his very brief 4 minutes, didn’t look out of place physically, however did manage a dropped ball - welcome to WTs. Freebairn created a lifetime memory with a double which was nice to see.
We remain 16th on 5 & 19 (4 wins, 1 bye, 19 losses).
33 players used, 14 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 11
Noffa = 8

We are almost certainties now for the dreaded spoon…unbelievably, our first in 23 years. Our only chance now to avoid it is not only win against a team desperate to make the finals, not only win at Leichhardt when our home success rate this year is 2&9, not only have the Titans lose to the aweful Warriors, but have both results end in floggings, enough to eradicate our 75 point F&A deficit to Gold Coast. Should Warriors win strongly, we have a cruel wait until the last game of the round to receive our fate.
To be continued next week against the rampaging Raiders..
