WESTS Tigers cumulative try tally 2022

Interesting doing a round 7 comparison to last year

In defence we are 10pts less a game better than last year (31 v 21)
In attack we are 4pts worse a game than last year (16 v 12)
Overall the margin between F&A is actually improved by 6pts per game (14 v 8)

Last season our defence & attack improved as the season went on 28pts (-3) & 20pts (+4)

If we base the trend curve on how this year has started with gains in attack and minor movements in defence like last year our trajectory would provide us with a positive F&A which we haven't done since 2011.
OK, I’ve seen enough to ask the question..
I hope the club is in talks with Cayless and Gardiner to secure them beyond 2022?

Cayless I hope we hold onto for a while, he was a key for the roosters - it's no surprise the forwards have dropped off abit this year yet ours are playing better compared to last year - but I guess that will hinge on if Madge stays.

Gardiner I'm not convinced of yet, our attack has looked ordinary even in our wins.
When we get into the 20mtr zone we get lost and move right then move left rather than draw in to then shift

Round 8 v St George
Brooks 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 16 tries @ 2 tries/game, 92 points total @ 11.5 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 29 tries @ 3.6 tries/game, 160 points total @ 20 points/game

Very disappointing attack today. We really should have ran a bag load of tries through that team, especially the way we played as opposed to how they did.
Brooksy added his second try of the year whilst the rest were kept quiet. For all intents and purposes Kelma scored a try but, we must officially ignore that. AJ Kepaoa debuted for the season.
23 players used, 17 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 6
Noffa = 5
Tamou = 1
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1
Brooks = 2

To be continued...

After 8 Rounds

Wests Tigers 16 tries.

Coates & Papenhuyzen 10 tries each.

Bulldogs 16 tries

Newcastle 17 tries

We're making good yards a lot of the time but once we get into the opposition red zone that's about it, a kick and hope for the best.

Round 9 v Manly
Garner 1 try
Peachey 1 try
Gildart 1 try
Ofahengaue 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 20 tries @ 2.2 tries/game, 114 points total @ 12.7 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 36 tries @ 4 tries/game, 196 points total @ 21.8 points/game

Disappointing attack again today. Manly’s defence was not good but we just couldn’t keep converting line breaks and opportunities into points. Some suspect decisions by the refs and some poor discipline boosted by our aweful injury toll cost us.
All 4 try scorers broke their duck egg for the season which was nice to see. We are still letting 4 tries in on average each week which goes a fair way towards explaining our 2 and 7 record.
23 players used, 13 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 6
Noffa = 5
Brooks = 2
Tamou = 1
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1
Garner = 1
Peachey = 1
Gildart = 1
Ofahengaue = 1

To be continued next week against the Cowboys....

Round 10 v Cowboys
Tupou 1 try
Garner 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 22 tries @ 2.2 tries/game, 126 points total @ 12.6 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 43 tries @ 4.3 tries/game, 232 points total @ 23.2 points/game

Tough game in attack with a couple of spine players going down on top of other head knocks and injuries. Some suspect decisions by the refs and some poor discipline boosted by our aweful injury toll cost us.
Tupou and Pauga debuted for us this year with Tupou debuting in the NRL as well, scoring a great try. We are still letting more than 4 tries in on average each week which goes a fair way towards explaining our 2 and 8 record.
25 players used, 14 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 6
Noffa = 5
Brooks = 2
Garner = 2
Tamou = 1
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1

Ofahengaue = 1
Tupou = 1

To be continued next week against the hapless Doggies....

Round 11 v Canterbury
Maumalo 2 tries
Brown 2 tries
Garner 1 try
To'a 1 try
Madden 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 29 tries @ 2.6 tries/game, 162 points total @ 14.7 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 47 tries @ 4.3 tries/game, 254 points total @ 23.0 points/game

Happy to add 7 tries to our tally!
An outstanding first half in the wet set us up for this win. Superb finishing from big Ken saw him post a double, whilst some electric and savvy dummy half scoots saw Fa'amanu Brown grab a double on debut. We celebrated Twal's 100th game and his 100th miss at scoring a try.
Fa'amanu Brown and Brent Naden debuted for us and both went very well. Madden and To'a broke their seals, with Jocks being a highlight effort. Some defensive lapses in the second half saw us let our customary 4 tries in, maintaining our yearly average. Our third win for the year with an injury riddled side does provide hope for the future. We are now 3 & 8.
27 players used, 13 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 8
Noffa = 5
Garner = 3
Brooks = 2
Brown = 2
Tamou = 1
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1
Peachey = 1
Gildart = 1
Ofahengaue = 1
Tupou = 1
To'a = 1
Madden = 1

To be continued next week against a Rabbits team we can beat....

Round 12 v Souths
Maumalo 2 tries

Cumulative WT totals = 32 tries @ 2.7 tries/game, 180 points total @ 15 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 55 tries @ 4.6 tries/game, 298 points total @ 24.8 points/game

Weak as piss effort.
Kepaoa scored his first.
We are now 3 & 9.
27 players used, 12 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 10
Noffa = 5

Gildart = 1
Ofahengaue = 1
Tupou = 1
To'a = 1
Madden = 1
Kepaoa = 1

The team now get a week off and its urged they spend that entire time staring into a fkn mirror. To be continued in week 14 against the Sea Eagles...

Round 14 v Manly
Garner 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 33 tries @ 2.4 tries/game, 184 points total @ 13.1 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 60 tries @ 4.3 tries/game, 328 points total @ 23.4 points/game

Well, the club really put their two weeks off to fantastic use. No rep players backing up, lots of time to rest and get over niggling injuries and lots of rumours, culminating in the “termination” of the head coach. We took the field at home on a sunny Sunday arvo against a team missing the current Dally M player of the year and the current QLD SOO captain. The result? An embarrassing performance by a heartless, soulless group of fake professional footballers, harking back to the good old days of our worst coward driven performances.
Our averages improved only due to the effects of the bye round, we let 5 tries in again.
We are now 4 & 10 (3 wins, 1 bye).
27 players used, 12 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 10
Noffa = 5
Garner = 4
Brooks = 2
Brown = 2
Tamou = 1
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1
Peachey = 1
Gildart = 1
Ofahengaue = 1
Tupou = 1
To'a = 1
Madden = 1
Kepaoa = 1

The team are now staring down the very real prospect of receiving the spoon. Do they have the balls to bounce back? To be continued next week against the shithouse Doggies.

The spine is rubbish. To think Hastings and Laurie are in negotiations to extend 18 months out. We must be desperate.

Round 15 v Canterbury
Nofoaluma 1 try
Tamou 1 try

Cumulative WT totals = 35 tries @ 2.3 tries/game, 196 points total @ 13 points/game
Cumulative Opposition totals = 66 tries @ 4.4 tries/game, 364 points total @ 24.3 points/game

Poor performance. Sheens and his call to sack Madge has translated into an indifferent approach to football from the group, with several players looking to have checked out for the year. Not much to be said really…Bulldogs are an ordinary side and they flogged us. Adam Doueihi returned to the big time and looked OK out there.
We are now 4 & 11 (3 wins, 1 bye) and firming as favourites for the spoon.
28 players used, 13 still on the nudie run.

Tally:
Big Ken = 10
Noffa = 6
Garner = 4
Brooks = 2
Brown = 2
Tamou = 2
Musgrove = 1
Leilua = 1
Peachey = 1
Gildart = 1
Ofahengaue = 1
Tupou = 1
To'a = 1
Madden = 1
Kepaoa = 1

The team now have to travel O/S to face a team who hasn’t played at home in 2 years in a battle to avoid the spoon.
To be continued next week against the desperate Warriors….
