Wests Tigers in running to sign Elijah Taylor

Never heard of Smith. Sue has made more errors, most of them unforced, than any of our forwards. Way too hot and cold. Looks absolutely fantastic at times and a reserve grader at others.

Taylor would be a lot more consistent than any other back rower at our club.

well heres the thing, most of us have players in mind playing lower grades who we'd like to see play in the FG Team.
If Elijah Taylor signs then their chances get smaller

Elijah Taylor would be a great pickup for us, has never had a chance to show what he has to offer with Penriff, but in saying that, is there an injury cloud over him as he hasn't been on the park for a long while now ?? Was mentioned on the bench early last week Penriff, but come game time he was dropped to 18th man.

The Rorters were also in the market for him, but Elijah's management team declined a $600K a year deal with the Rorters.
Do we have more than that to offer him ?? :sign:

It would be insane to pay a backrower 600k+ if that is what he wants forget it

I doubt it…..

I doubt they offered it and I doubt they would decline it if it was on the table.

$600K is enormous money.

I think Sue has been our best forward all season.

Taylor would either push Sironen to the bench, or be first player off the bench.

I think we would change our structure.

Taylor would play big minutes in the middle from the get go. Allowing us to have 2 of WOods, Grant and Sue on at all times in the front.

A much better outcome. We get into trouble defensively when we have Sue and ALoaia on, they are a bit sluggish laterally and neither work hard enough from marker.

Probably see Sirro, Lawrence and Halatau split the edge roles,

Aloaia would play less time, relieving either Taylor or an edge player, probably have games without much time at all.

That would be my thoughts anyway.

He's not injured he's just on the outer at Penrith due to a falling out with Griffin. He was always going to end up on the outer when they signed Merrin and decided to play him at lock to be honest.

He's not a 600K player and I don't think any club would be entertaining that sort of money. We shouldn't be. I'd be surprised if he's genuinely after that sort of money though.

He is a defending player which is what we need but how many **small forwards** do we need

Height: 6'3
Weight: 101 KG

are you talking about me Demps,Im a powerhouse centre, but need to lose some of the spare tyre I have accumulated over the years…haha...but you were close mate....

seriously, he could be a good buy,but not at 600,000..thats if he is asking that much...

I feel there is a new criteria at the Tigers ,not just running out and signing players but thinking about the future .Elijah is a good player but the price has to be right , and who gets dropped as we know this is probmatic in itself.
There seems to be at long last some long term planning for the future with recruitment so whether Elijah fits that bill time will tell.

I heard he told people he got offered 600k from the Roosters because he likes to laugh at people who'll believe anything they read on the internet.

If Taylor pulls 80 minutes, we can have 2 hookers on the bench every week.

Taylor and Farah could both play 80\. Sue could go back into prop rotation, meaning our forwards would always be fresh and firing.
You could even carry a player like Rankin on the bench purely to cover any injuries from 1 - 7

Woods
Farah
Grant
Lawrence
Sironen
Taylor

Sue
Ava
Aloai
Rankin

I honestly see the Taylor regime, as being slow developing but precise and focused moving forward.

I have my objections about how he is trying to accomplish his end game, but find little fault in where he is trying to take us.

As with his time at Souths, someone else will most likely benefit from his stint here.

We'd of kept Taupau for 600 k

Neither are worth 600 k , not even close

With the removal of Liolevave a spot opens up for Taylor. Or do they promote Tatola and/or Felise.
