Wests Tigers keen to take Matt Moylan off Cronulla’s books

@Russell to me it's a mindset
When u have had to push beyond your limits alot it builds a certain character he didn't have to do that. Fitness is only a small part of it. Another being fighting together with the boys arpund you developing the next level bond.

You need a real strong desire and work ethic to turn your career around at 28 and I am not sure that is Moylan. Of course Madge is a bloke who could change things

I don't believe it would distract players from coming here because of our Coach and work ethic. Benji is a great example of this as he is mid 30's, done everything in the game & on min wage but wants to go around again.. If it was that hard under the coach he would of pulled the pin and went into media. I have no problems taking Moylan on as long as Sharks are paying some of his salary as he only has 2 years left.. If he performs and is injury free we resign him.

I honestly think jennings will be better this year. Last year he was still kind of training with south's until a few weeks from kick off. He started the season looking unfit and slow. Hopefully woth a full preseason and a rocket from madge he can improve. He is only 23 and has size on his side

If it takes a guy (especially under madge) a whole season to get fit - I don't want him.

And you have to ask also why was he was so unfit and slow after training a full off season with a team under Bennett that finished top 4?

Meanwhile, Sharks fullback Matt Moylan has rejected a verbal approach from the Wests Tigers to join them in 2020.

While the Tigers will continue to pursue Moylan as their fullback for next season, both the 28-year-old and his agent have reiterated to the Tigers management his only focus is to remain in the Shire where he still has two years remaining on his contract.

Plan B
We can help them out by taking Ramien

No point getting Ramien if he'll just try to welch out to go where he really wants to go (Cronulla) as soon as they have the money available to take him on.

Not a Moylan fan. Patchy form over the last few years and bone lazy player. Wouldn't last five minutes under Madge! Pass!

Releasing Matterson to go somewhere just so we can spend a huge amount to take on the Sharks dumb contract would be a win for the sharks. Doubt the sharks would even be able to afford to pay much of the contract as they have fines also.

I have not placed any credence on these Moylan rumours, however after reading this release, Im actually convinced that its happening.

It wasnt ruled out and the unusual wording of Moylans response IMO is a clear message to sweeten the whole deal.

Might be wrong

Way I've read it, and I may be very wrong... Is that what the Sharks are willing to cover and what we are will to pay isn't adding up to his current contract.

Really@Fitzy05? Matto and Moylan are lovers!!!

Is this a serious gift you have?

Or is it just a very sick statement from a very sick imagination?

Quite possibly, but that means there is intent on both sides

Yeah I don’t think we’ve heard the last of this.

Moylan has demonstrated his true self since been booted from Penrith. Why do so many coaches fail to believe him? Must be an ego thing.

If any of this is true it sounds like Moylan is following Manna and saving us from ourselves. 🤞
