I can understand clubs chasing him if he were actually a good player, had a high ceiling, or had shown he could be great, however he's none of that. He's just an average middle forward who is guaranteed to cause off field issues. Why chance it.

Because he can improve our squad.
Basics ??

Sheens will get the boys, back to basics.
Fundamentals.

Woods, Elliot, Scott...

Guys like this improve our squad.
Do their job and let the magic happen, like Benji in 05...

Now it's Laurie, AD, Hastings types who will be dazzling whilst everything else just plays out exactly how it should.

Chess, not checkers.

It’s the media saying this, to generate click bait! I doubt that anyone would seriously consider Elliot given his track record with the drink and cheating on a past team mate.

It’s sad but these two would improve our squad and are really the only types of players we can attract at the moment.

True but if these players improve our squad and take valuable cap space and then we really have a crap team. I don’t think they would improve us. Better to be patient and much better signings will come in the near future.

I'm fine with signing 'bad bys' but hope we select one who will get it together. We don't have a great ttrack record with this.

Didn't stop another player getting a gig elsewhere.

Early reports saying Elliot has declined all available offers and has been given a gig at maccas.

No one will sign with us until they know exactly who the coach is going to be .....

Or maybe the COE can coach the side from 2022 and beyond .....

The CEO or the COE? Both are intrinsically related.

COE ...it is the bees knees ...and we paid a heap .....should win the Dally M

The Wests Tigers seem to be linked to just about every player who comes off-contract, and that trend is showing no signs of slowing down.

Both Adam Elliott and Curtis Scott have been let go by their respective clubs this season, and now the Tigers have been linked to the pair.

The Raiders let go of Scott few weeks ago, saying Scott "brought the club into disrepute" for prior behaviour and a recent assault charge, which Scott is in the process of defending.

Scott hasn't played since mid-season after he was first stood down by the club as investigations into the alleged incident continued, before he was left out of the playing squad to travel into the Queensland bubble.

Elliott, meanwhile, was let go by the Bulldogs on Friday night after an off-field incident with NRLW player Millie Boyle at a Gold Coast establishment just three weeks ago.

It followed other on-field indiscretions at Mad Monday in 2018, and earlier this year with former teammate Michael Lichaa.

A Bulldogs statement said that Elliott and the club had mutually decided to part ways.

But now The Australian's Brent Read has reported on Triple M radio that the Tigers are interested in both players.

Read said negotiations with Elliott could begin as early as next week.

“I think that is something they will begin to resolve early next week,” Read said.

“His manager Dave Riolo has been talking to clubs about him and gauging interest. He will have no trouble finding a club and the Tigers are one club watching the situation pretty closely."

It's understood Michael Maguire is keen on bringing Curtis Scott to the club too, with Read saying the deals will hinge on his coaching future, which is subject to an internal review.

“There is talk about Curtis Scott. Madge was keen on Curtis Scott from what I understand," Read said.

“It probably hinges to an extend on what happens with the coach.

“I think he’s had players come out and support in the latter stages of the week. James Tamou has been supporting Madge, Luciano Leilua as well. It has probably helped him."

I wonder if leopards can change their spots, if not we shouldn't get involved with this duo:face_with_rolling_eyes:

We could do with a centre. I dont remember Scott....

Who would Elliott displace??

Elliot push Luciani to the bench maybe.

Scott the lad who punched Dylan Walker.
Sharks junior went to Melb then Raiders.
Then got in trouble for being drunk in a park and accused of assaulting police but was proved innocent.

Look forward to us not being able to land these unwanted players.

Like Demps said, they'd improve our squad (sadly), but if we can't land these guys.... what hope do we have.

Put Elliot on a no alcohol clause in his contract, Scott a no idiot clause. Give them both on a one year contract with a club option on a second year, with low first year value and upgrades for the second year. Both can play and really need to prove something.

He's a centre...
And that's something we need, desperately.

My person opinion is he's definitely alright.
He's not Joey Manu though.

He's better than Talau, Gildart, etc.

I'd welcome him.

The last yr he was with Melb he was considered a roughy for Origin until he got injured. Never really reached that sort of form at Raiders largely due to injuries but the off field stuff certainly played a part. I believe he may have had a fair bit of stuff going on in his personal life which prob affected his form as well.
