Wests Tigers name five co-captains

Hopefully they have some sort of system worked out for game days or else there could be a logjam in the tunnel before the match.
On the bright side at least our boys will be match-fit after the Captain's Run.

If Cleary wants 5 leaders in the dressing room, that’s fine. But why not name one as a figurehead to the public? This gives the impression that he’s indesicive or doesn’t want to upset the apple cart.

Reynolds
Leeds with passion agression and his never say die attitude

Packer will no doubt leed from the front and has shown how you can change to become a better person
I expect him to take Twal and Eisenhuth to the next level and these 3 will have a great year working together

Lawrence is a loyal club player who never gives up trying on the field and would be someone easily approachable by the younger players in our squad

Marshall has plenty of experience as a player and in media
Let's not forget he has also played for the Dragons and Brisbane Broncos under Wayne bennet
He will add plenty to the team on and off the field

Then what can you say about Taylor
I remember a game where he got absolutely smashed last year by big mean Sam Burgess and It cut him right open
I think that was in round 1
He was on his feet in a flash and kept on going. I don't know how he did that but it goes to show just how much focus an passion he has
Many on here pre selected him as captain
An 80 minute player

You won't see five captains on the field at one time
You will see 5 players leeding by example
One of these will be captain on the day
Everyone has an idea who should be captain
I have seen about 10 players mentioned on this forum

Some of you guys on here sound like you would like to be on the board and restrict Ivan with his decisions
Isn't that what happened to Sheens Potter and Taylor
Best you let our coach make the Decisions
I hope Ivan is not reading this forum with some of the negative comments on here
The season hasn't even started yet

Thinking outside the square
I like it

I thought the article said the onfield leader (i.e captain) isn't decided yet?
It reads to me more like 5 club captains at this stage with the balance of duties yet to be determined.

I'm going to have to trust Cleary on this one. But I would 100% agree with GNR. I kind of can't believe they went down this path. Anyways, it is the Tigers! 😱pen_mouth:

Heaps of clubs have done it. I think it’s a first for the Tigers. I would prefer one captain but I can see why we have done the co-captains this year.

Yeah, I understand that. And reading that Melbourne had done it a little while back was kind of the saving grace to the story for me. And i gotta say I was all over ET being the captain, but as time went on and I read other peoples opinions I started to feel Reynolds or Lawrence were the best fit. In the end I was a little confused on which way to go. I got a feeling Ivan might have been in the same boat. But choosing a dedicated mouth piece for the club should have been a no brainer. I trust in Ivan so let season 2018 roll on!

5 Co-Captains?

That's just embarrassing!

How ? Or Why ?

Its not like Captains make that many decisions in a club but they have a lot of jobs. Ive never understood 1 captain in a professional club

I know you like to drink the WT cool-aid but even you must understand why one leader is important in a team sport right?A bus has one driver. Not only do we now need all these new players to gel but we are relying on all 5 skippers to be on the same page??? just stupid.

I was worried when i saw the team list for the trial and it smacked me in the face of how lacking Wests are in many areas. This now has added to my worries. Its embarrassing and completely out of sinc in what we are told that no one player is bigger than the club. The only possible reason to have 5 captains would be to appease someone who feels they should have it. luckily the chances of finals are slim so we wont have to have the embarrassment of 5 WT in the captains of finals team photo.

And in what "many areas" would we be lacking?

Well if we had the following as captains all would be sweet in the speech department
Milne c
Masters c
Mclwrick c
Matalino c
McQueen c
That's 5 M . C's in the team
Anyone of them could give a speech

Anyone not on board with Lawrence and Marshall as co-captains, please hand in your bus pass now. They are two club legends.
