I think its a great idea - should of had more - you could have the whole team to approach the ref to question his decision - i can see a Sparticus moment -
Ref : who is the captain
Lawrence : I am captain
Packer I am captain
Taylor : I am captain
Reynolds : I am captain
Marshall : I am captain

Does anyone else get the feeling Cleary is lying in bed at night thinking "Benji is looking like our best half, Benji looks to be our best leader, what the hell do i do with this"?
Its my gut feeliing that Benji is putting great pressure on Ivan. And if the rumour is true that Reynolds will play some hooker this weekend, then its not out of the question that this is indeed unfolding.

Too many old fashioned old farts on this thread I see. I honestly cant see a proboem with this and think it could really work to our advantage. Also I cab see why you coyldbt name any of them individually.
Lawrence and Benji may not .ake the team every week, Packer cant do the off field stuff with all sponsors for obvious reasons and 9nly plays 40 mins, ET on the field is usually too stuffed to be captain and Reynolds is new to the club, has a bad rep with refs and lots of other to focus on.
If course on the field tjeir will be one captain but on field leadership never just comes from a captain and if it does you have the wrong team.
As for those against it ive not read any reason on this forum so far other then its different i dont like it .

5 is a leadership group, you only need one captain on the paddock.

Bagging Cleary for not naming one Captain is really funny. Seeing as how most of you bagged the last two captains unmercifully (Farah and Woods). You now have multiple choice.

I don't think we will finish the season with 5 captains. Hopefully only 2 at most. It is strange though. Good on Cleary for being his own person. Fingers crossed it all comes good.
Perhaps Cleary is thinking that though Benji or Lawrence probably won't make the run-on teams, they are the leaders, and really those two are the guys that the young fellas in the club look up to. So, by making them included as "captains", really only in name, it helps unite and strengthen the club.
My question is what about Brooks and Nofa? If you're going to have 5 captains, why not have 7? Maybe not Brooks cos IC isn't sure he can cut it and doesn't want to axe the "captain" during the year.

The Storm had co-captains. The Swans have done so.
