Wests Tigers Podcast - Hosted by Helmsey&Eddie.

Hi guys,

Joel and and I are going to tach up over the weekend for Podcast 7

If there is any questions you have or anything you would ask to discuss let us know.

In Part 1 it will be all WT talk with recent news about the sanctions update Daley as a possible assistant plus what is happening at training.

In part 2 we will discuss what is happening on here on the forums plus we are going to rank our Top 5 NRL coaches(and Bottom 5) going into 20109 as well as rating the halves combinations (top 5 and bottom 5) and where the WT sit in all this.

Cheers

We know every coach picks and sticks with certain fringe players that have fans scratching their heads. Who do you think Madge’s head scratcher will be?

I’m gonna stick my neck out and say McQueen is not done yet. Maguire could bring him back to his best and McQueen seems determined to do this.

Question; going by pre season training photos the players look strong.

Can Maguire transform our forwards to play out his typical game plan….week in/ week out?

Love the podcast boys, well done!!

I would love you guys to have a chat about some of the fringe players that we don't know a lot about. Dylan Smith, Mikaele and some of the newer juniors like Jock Madden and Talau.

Also, why hasn't Connolly Leumelu kicked on? It seems we have always had the junior talent, do we just not have the right coaching structures to bring these guys through?

I have raised the same theory many times …Mcqueen is a smart footy player and can read a game especially in the red zone one of the only forwards that can and has a lot to offer IMO...

Hi all, We recorder Podcast 7 last Night.

https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/wests-tigers-podcast-0007/

Still plenty of things to talk bout including in Part 1 Club’s appeal against the NRL’s sanctions, including the future of CEO Justin Pascoe, Esan Marsters being named in the Maori All Stars team, Benji Marshall suffering a hamstring injury and the battle between Robbie Farah and Jacob Liddle for the Number 9 jersey,.

In Part Two we discuss some questions and topics from this forum, including will Madge have a favourite or pet player?Plus a variety of responses to the home grounds’ debate. Also look into the overall membership numbers of each NRL Clubs – the over achievers, under achievers, and whether these numbers are legitimate?

Finally we name our Top 5 and Worst 5 current NRL coaches, and how new coach Michael Maguire fits into that mix.

Hope you enjoy and give us any positive or negative feedback !

Thumbs up guys.
Great podcast again (good to get a couple of mentions). I think Madge will have Matulino and Packer playing a different game to what Cleary wanted.

To Cleary’s credit, he’s been the only Tigers coach to get good defensive pattern across the park. Sadly we didn’t have the cattle to put in the whole season. Fingers crossed that Madge can build on that AND get better attacking results.

Enjoy your wedding and honeymoon Joel.

Massive thanks for your efforts gents.

So professional and well.presented points.

I hope u guys get a chance to meet with some.of the players and possibly coach through the course of the season.

This would be the next step guys. Your podcast is very professional and really interesting. It’s slick and current. At the moment it’s just your opinions - the forum on speed maybe😜. Next step I reckon is to get some inside info or high profile guests. But whatever you do, love your work!! Thanks again

@Eddie & @helmesy Finally had the chance to listen. Then I couldn’t stop. Good stuff, I really enjoyed them. Looking forward to the next.
PS. Congrats @helmesy and enjoy your wedding day and have a great honeymoon.

@Eddie & @helmesy Possible topic to discuss: Best and worst rule changes in the last ten years?

Mine are:
Worst: Obstruction rule. The most confusing rule on the books. Interpretation seems to change every year.

Best: Andrew Voss’s campaign to change the corner post rule. I always thought meh until it actually happened and then wow. Hasn’t this allowed some fantastic finishes. “Corner posts no longer treated as ‘touch-in-goal’ in circumstances where a player comes into contact with them”.
