Hi guys, great listen. Wests Tigers need to take the NRL to court as the NRL CEO has stated Pascoe is a cheat, and intentionally cheated the salary cap. This is defamation. If there is a on-field benefit, or financial benefit, let the NRL present their case to justify defamation, outside of their jurisdiction. Once they do this we get to state our case in a neutral environment. Should we be successful Greenberg will have no option but to resign.

Well said "sheer64'

If it pans out that way the game will be saved….. :master:

But I doubt it will...... :frowning:

No one club takes the NRL to court…they hand out the money, they hand out the licenses, they make the rules and they are a secret society. Any deals re the judgement will be done behind close doors and in secret.

Haha good pronounciation boys!

Another good listen. I agree, slim pickings re. off contract players for 2019\. If we lose Musgrove & now MCK I’m really hoping it inspires someone like Mikaele, Garner, McIntyre or McQueen (the forgotten man) to take their chance & cement a spot in the 17.

Looking forward to the next episode!

Thanks guys,

Been pretty quiet the past couple of weeks re any news.

Might here some more re Pascoe in the next week or so you would think given he deadline around the potential appeal.

Were probably going to record Podcast 6 Friday afternoon.

If you can think of anything you would like us to discuss, let us know !!

Cheers.

Souths and West’s have been to court.. I do not agree at all . The threat of court and an injunction to stop the competition will certainly make certain types take notice .Nothing will change unless a club stands its ground and test its case if they feel harshly done by.

Obviously go to the NRL Tribunal first - if we don't get anywhere or don't get a fair go….

Why not go to court - don't think the NRL would want a lot of their secrets getting out.

Nothing to lose if we are forced into it.

Think Pascoe is worth it myself.

Hi guys recorded Podcast 6 on Friday

https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/wests-tigers-podcast-0006/

In Tiger Territory for the first time at Wests Ashfield Leagues Club!

We talk about plenty of things.

In Part One we discuss the recent collapse of the Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League and what it could mean for the Wests Tigers.

What could have led to this situation?
Have Wests Campbelltown withdrawn some support for Rugby League in the area?
Has the Campbelltown area been neglected?
What does this mean for our home ground situation in the future?
They also discuss the fact the First Grade side will play only one trial game in 2019, and whether that is a positive or negative.

Part Two is a bumper this week, with an in-depth discussion on whether Tim Simona should be re-registered in the NRL, and whether the Tigers should be interested.

Plus:

Could a move to the centres for Benji Marshall work best for the team in 2019?
What is their personal favourite team to beat each year?
The boys also engage in a game of “More or Less” where the topics include:

Would they like more or less games at big stadiums?
Afternoon football?
Is the bunker used too much in NRL?
And are high scoring games a better spectacle than low scoring games?

Let us know you agree or disagree with anything guys and any suggestions for future shows as the seasons draws closer.

Cheers

The agenda for the club going to Campbelltown is a big yawn will never happen put it to bed … yes there needs to be one home ground but Campbelltown will not be it !juniors are a thing of the past for a club to support, this should be the domain of the NRL ....clubs do not have the money anymore to support this system times have changed like it or not .Clubs will just pick the teeth out of the juniors available in all areas have done and this will only increase .
There seems to be a distinct lack of knowledge about the history of what did happen since the Magpies moved to Campbelltown maybe some research might be a good idea instead of not really knowing .. instead of just an agenda based on some need that the club should just move because of a large population! news flash when the Magpies played all there games there it was also a huge population growth area how did that work out No One Was Interested !
Will not bother listening if this agenda continues as there are better topics that are more relevant to our club that myself as a supporter are more interested in and your podcast could be a great avenue for all of us supporters to get behind and listen to .. sorry for the negativity but you have a great opportunity to be a great mouth piece for us supporters to follow , just get out of the agenda business..

Thanks for the feedback Snake. Happy to have you on anytime to discuss anything in detail !

It is a hotly debated topic the home grounds issue and I guess that is why we have given it plenty of air time with not much footy to talk about in the off season.

Joel and I actually disagree on it regularly so I think its harsh to call it an agenda!

I feel it is coming to a head in the next couple of years that we will move more permanently somewhere. I'm dont think it will be to Ctown but interested in all opinions/options.

Let us know what other stuff to talk about as were always looking to improve things and talk about stuff people are interested in.

Thanks for the feedback Snake. I’m passionate about the club and want us to not just have a future, but an amazing future.

I don’t know if the existing structure/strategy is sustainable, or providing us with the optimum platform for sustained success.

Comparing what happened with a semi-successful Magpies in Campbelltown 25 years ago is most likely not a true indication of what we might experience if a shift is made in the next five years.

The Macarthur is an area that has changed enormously (dare I say grown up?) over the past 10 years especially and I think we would be foolish to not look at the opportunities that could be presented to the club there.

Again, just my opinion, we always welcome yours.

I’m glad you guys addressed the home ground issue, and in particular Ctown. It’s the fastest growing area in Sydney. Every time you drive out along Camden Valley Way, there’s a new estate popping up. And over the next 20 years, it’s going to keep growing, all the way out to the Razorback. It’s big enough now, let alone in 2040\. Total ignorance to fob that off as no big deal. It’s an entire city we could have to ourselves.

Well done again boys. I might be opening a can of worms here but I’d love to hear your thoughts about some of the inconsistencies within the NRL, ie. see the “Inglis retires” thread comparing Simona’s punishment to Inglis’, etc. Also given Greenberg’s recent comments re. tougher penalties for players who misbehave do you see things changing for the better?

I used to think that Campbelltown could be our future but I don’t anymore.

Firstly, the building or renovating of the 3 main stadia in Sydney (ANZ, Alliance & Parra) and less and less money for suburban grounds shows that the state government wants shared grounds.

Secondly, now the Wests Ashfield (a licenced club) own 75% of the Wests Tigers I would think that they would want games played close to home to capture some of the after game patronage added to their bottom line.

The new stadium at Parramatta would be the ideal choice for most home grounds. Ironically future Tiger v Eels games would be best played at ANZ for the holiday bonanza games (~50k crowds).

So I’m in favour of one main home ground.
I’m also in favour of having one main jersey design and sticking with it.

TBH I have only just started listening to your podcast but you now have another listener going forward.

Keep up the good work.
