Wests Tigers release Rob Lui

There is no way we want ORFULL!!!!!!!!!! He is an embarrassment!!!!
We don't need anyone else!!!!!
Use the talent we have & if the coaching staff can't get results with Moltz, Miller, Humble then they should not be "COACHING"!!!!!!
"HOW HARD IS IT????"
GOOD RIDDENCE TO "lob lolly lui"!!!!!
Onwards & Upwards for 2012!!!!

Why don't we try and pinch Finch or don't we have enough $$$'s left in the cap

We had Finch in a mid season switch in his last year at Melbourne but if fell through because we only wanted him for the remainder of the year and he wanted a longer deal

I notice no-one has mentioned Tom Humble as a possible halfback for 2012\. I think Moltz really started to shine at fullback at the end of last year, even his kick returns improved, and I think we really need to leave him in one spot.

But with Miller apparently out of form in the 20's at the end of the season could humble be given a go in the 7? or is he more of a fullback?

As for Lui, I am not sad to see him go. Apart from the off-field stuff we will be a 6-10 point-a-game better defensive team without him in the side. If we can find someone that can pass the ball to benji we shouldn't have a problem in attack either.

Having said that rob could mature into a devastating attacking player in partnership with thurston, but i just think he was a bad fit for us, considering our achilles heal has always been defence.

I thought his defencce was improving….and as for just having someone to pass it to benji....well we all know how consistent he is, not that simple.

I am sad to lose Robert Lui. Having watched him through the U20s and then into the top side, I was expecting him to stamp himself as a terrific player. I hope he can get his life together with the Cowboys and goes onto better things. Best wishes to him.

Theres a strong chance that Orford will end up at Souths

Surely Maguire will bring Brett Finch back before he takes Orford?

Yeah, I think South's have little chance of picking up Orford. They have a pretty good few junior options in the halves, like us.

Where are you getting your info GNR4LIFE? Is it just a guesstimate?

I've seen a few people talk about it on facebook. It would make sense given Souths don't have a recognized halfback for next yr. Orford might do a job as a stop-gap for 12 months

I agree, its not that simple, but my point is that we have plenty of attacking flair. all we need is someone who can give benji some good early ball, and can occaisionally create something to take the pressure off. no superstar, but then not john morris either. A solid kicking game wouldn't go astray either.

as for lui's defence, his attempt on mateo was under 10's stuff and may have cost us a premiership. I too thought it was improving until that moment.

Nix magpiecol isn't confusing moltzen with anyone he just has zero knowledge about the game..

Do you mean that I have zero knowledge of the game or Moltzen?

If it is moltzen then I agree. If it is yours truly then I disagree.

Name a halfback or fullback from all the other teams in the comp, that in your opinion, is worse than Moltzen.

Robert Lui ! He played shockers for at least 10 games in a row and you all kept saying give him a chance then he couldn't tackle, couldn't kick, I can't be bothered going I posted most of this earlier in the year.

I would like to see the club hand Miller the #7 jumper for 2012…The sooner the better, so the kid can commence the pre-season knowing that the #7 is his!.,,,Then I say leave him in the #7 for at least 6 weeks...to prove that he is up to NRL standard....that is all I expect from him...to demonstrate in 6 weeks that he has the goods to be a competent #7 in the NRL....If he is out of his league after 6 weeks then we look at other options such as Moltzen or outside...

Only problem with that Alex… If after 6 weeks he IS out of his league, You have wasted 6 weeks!!
Then you have to find another Combination.... Could end up wasting half the season!!

Exactly the experiment didn't pay off with Lui eh,was a waste of a whole season. ? :deadhorse:

Yeah thats why I mentioned it We got really close then and maybe he might be happy to get back to Australia Wouldn't be the first guy not to like it over there..
KS we will just tell em If they don't give us either Richards or Finch we will send Fitzhenry over there .
That will fix em up for sure

Thats great - I cant believe we ever went after him in the first place.

finchie has knocked back the tiger 3 times, there is no chance he will ever change his mind on us.

Thanks goodness!!

I'm surprised the Prince rumour hasn't gathered some momentum again post the Lui sacking.

Tough to say who Lui's replacement could be. Might just be a frog in a storm.

It won't be Dane Chisholm mate.

Why would we do that when we have both Miller and Moltzen at our disposal?

Depth is one reason.

Moltzen's not a halfback and there's doubts over whether Miller is ready

Benji can always jump into the 7, or maybe humble.

If benji switches, then we also have the options of moltz, siro or Lawrence at 6.

I'm comfortable with our depth. I think miller will kill it given half a chance.
